Amazon, Walmart and Target pull offensive 'Tranny Granny' Halloween costume with 'curvaceous butt and boob pads to complete the look'
- The costume was being sold by third party vendor Rasta Imposta
- Amazon and Walmart pulled the product from their websites on Tuesday
- Target followed suit on Wednesday
- Walmart spokesman said they were 'appalled' it was on site in first place
- It included a dress with padded breasts and bottom, as well as a head scarf
A Halloween costume offensive to the LGBTQ community has been pulled from the websites of Amazon, Walmart and Target.
The so-called 'Tranny Granny' costume includes a dress and headscarf, with 'curvaceous butt and boob pads to complete the look'.
'All the guys will be dressing up as superheroes and princes, but you will stand out among the rest in this hilarious Granny Men’s Costume!' a description of the costume reads.
While cross-dressing on Halloween can be harmless, it's the term 'tranny' being used to market a men's costume that goes too far for many transgender people.

An offensive 'Tranny Granny' costume has been pulled from the websites of Walmart, Amazon and Target
The costume was being sold by a third-party vendor called Rasta Imposta. We’re appalled this seller put it on our site to begin with,' a Walmart spokesman said
'The word "tranny" and the stigma associated with it is often used to humiliate, dehumanize and degrade transgender women in a way that challenges and discredits our womanhood,' Ashlee Marie Preston, a transgender activist, told Mic. 'When society refuses to view us as women, we are instantly filed away under the "it" category and stripped of our humanity.'
After complaints, both Amazon and Walmart pulled the product from their website on Tuesday, and Target - which had been selling the costume under the name 'Women's Granny Costume' - followed suit on Wednesday.
All three retailers had the costume listed by a third-party vendor called Rasta Imposta.
Walmart told LGBTQNation that the costume 'obviously' violated its terms of service for third-party retailers. It's unclear how the team dedicated to reviewing these products let it slip through the cracks.
'While it’s listed on other sites, it clearly violates our policy and was quickly removed once we were notified. We’re appalled this seller put it on our site to begin with,' a spokesman said.
The 'Tranny Granny' costume was produced to be sold at $64, but was discounted to around $25 on most sites.
The costume is somewhat remniscent of the 'Call Me Caitlyn' costume which surfaced last year, parodying Caitlyn Jenner's Vanity Fair cover. The costume was met with widespread criticism and was eventually pulled from several retailers.
