She is known as the feisty, raven-haired star of hit 90s fantasy show Xena: Warrior Princess.
But iconic New Zealand beauty Lucy Lawless, 48, was almost unrecognisable as she stepped out with an extremely edgy, cropped 'do in New York on Wednesday.
Appearing at a promotional event for her show Ash v Evil Dead, the charismatic show-woman wore her new mane with confidence as she posed for photos in a long-sleeved pencil dress.

The statuesque actress completed her look with a tan-hued leather coat, which she wore across her shoulders in a cape-like fashion, and a pair of leopard-print heels with lace-up detailing.
She also made the most of her newly-exposed ears by donning a pair of gold statement earrings as well as a matching ring and bangle.
Her complexion was enhanced with a fresh and natural makeup look that included a dash of peach-coloured blush, rose-hued lipstick and a dark blue eye shadow.

The mother-of-three debuted her new coif on Instagram last week with a photo of herself looking shocked while sitting in a hairdresser's chair.
'Craig!! What did you do?!!! I said just a trim,' she quipped in the caption.
Fans were quick to compliment the star on her bold new look, with one writing: 'Well short hair doesn't get in your eyes when you kick a** Xena style... You look amazing!'

While Lucy's days playing Xena are long over, she hasn't strayed far from the genre of action flicks, having recently reprised her role of Ruby in the second season of Ash vs. Evil Dead.
She stars alongside Bruce Campbell as hero Ash and Ray Santiago as Ash's sidekick.
