NBA player Jeff Withey took to Twitter to deny claims he cheated on his ex-fiancee Playboy Playmate Kennedy Summers.

The Utah Jazz center spoke out in a series of tweets on Wednesday night after it was reported earlier in the day that Summers had called off their engagement just months after she accused him of being unfaithful.

The 26-year-old adamantly dismissed the claims, saying he never cheated on Summers and was 'very sick of being portrayed as this person I am not.'

He apologized to loved ones for having to learn of their called-off engagement on social media, and said he was sad Summers did not keep things private.

Withey took to Twitter to deny claims he cheated on her while they were together

'News outlets keep saying that I "allegedly" cheated on my ex fiancée Kennedy Summers,' he wrote. 'Let me just make it very clear. I never cheated!!'

'I care and love her very much and wish the best for her. But I am very sick of being portrayed as this person I am not,' he continued.

'Its [sic] possible for people to end relationships for other reasons than cheating. People that know me, know my character and know I'd never cheat,' Withey said.

'Sorry for the rant but this has been bugging me. I want to say sorry to my friends and family that have to hear about this from social media,' he added.

'I'm sad that Kennedy decided to make a statement to tmz instead of keeping things private. I love and care about her and wish her the best.'

Summer called it quits with her NBA boyfriend just three months after he popped the question, according to TMZ.

The news came just four months after Summers accused him of cheating, writing on Twitter in a since deleted post: 'Could I please just once date a guy who isn't f***ing hoes on @Tinder while we're dating.'

Summers also logged into Withey's Instagram and Facebook accounts back in June and posted a photo of herself in a sports bra and thong saying that her boyfriend had been cheating on her and took another woman to the movies.

'I cheated on this girl. I told my girlfriend I was going to the movies alone last night and then found this receipt,' wrote Withey.

'I also shouldn't have given her my Instagram password like a dumba**.'

Withey later denied her claims and said he had simply picked up the ticket of the person in front of him in line.

Summers' rep Zack Teperman said that social media played a role in the split, explaining in a statement: 'While it has its many pros, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc. can also create many issues within a relationship.

'The negative effects of social media have claimed yet another couple.'

Whitey, who is currently in her third year of medical school, has moved out of the couple's home.

It is unclear when exactly the pair split.
