SEBASTIAN SHAKESPEARE: Sir Patrick Stewart to play Jonathan Aitken in film about his second wife's complicated love life
Jonathan Aitken with his wife Elizabeth Harris
Former Tory jailbird Jonathan Aitken was once credited with matinee idol looks, so it is perhaps only natural that he should have inspired a film.
Aitken, 74, and second wife Elizabeth Harris, 80, right, form the subject of a fictionalised account of her complicated love life directed by her son Damian Harris, by late actor Richard.
The Wilde Wedding stars Glenn Close as the bride and Sir Patrick Stewart as her latest (fourth) husband.
'The action takes place around a family wedding in Westchester in New York state, and the shenanigans that followed,' says Damian.
After Elizabeth divorced Harris in 1969, she went on to marry Rex Harrison and later Peter Aitken, a cousin of Jonathan.
Sarah Jessica Parker sags in the city
Is the strain of playing a woman suffering a midlife marital crisis taking its toll on former Sex And The City star Sarah Jessica Parker?
As she stepped out this week to promote her new TV show, Divorce, her heavy make-up failed to hide the lines under her eyes and her crepey neck.
SJP, 51, is married to actor Matthew Broderick, with whom she has three children. But she still reminisces about playing New York singleton Carrie Bradshaw, saying reprising the role remains a 'definite possibility'. If revived, the show might need to be renamed Sags And The City.

Former University Challenge host Bamber Gascoigne has buried the ashes of his aunt, the Duchess of Roxburghe, in the foundations of a new opera house being built at West Horsley Place, Surrey. The ashes were placed directly under where the lead violinist will sit.
Actress Sarah Alexander admits to being somewhat miffed that she was ignored in Ealing while filming a scene in a state of undress for her latest comedy series, Marley's Ghosts.
Sarah, 45, complains: 'I had to run down the street wet and semi-naked in my underwear but nobody noticed and no one even turned from their cappuccinos. Then I had to do the scene again in my knickers but there was still no reaction. Not good for a girl's confidence!'
The Queen will want to make sure her servants have battened down the hatches at Windsor today. Bellowing thespian Brian Blessed is due to collect his OBE. And the foghorn-voiced actor won't be the only screen star handed an honour: the Queen's page, Paul Whybrew, is to receive the Royal Victorian Medal. Whybrew appeared in the 007 spoof at the opening of the 2012 London Olympics when he uttered the phrase: 'Mr Bond, Your Majesty.'
