As one of the biggest stars out there, Britney Spears has the ability to call in a glam team whenever the occasion arises.

But on Wednesday the 34-year-old showed that, just like anybody else, she too can suffer from a bad hair day.

The songbird was spotted with a rather unfortunate hair 'do as she headed towards a tanning salon in Calabasas.

Hair faux pas aside, the popstrel was otherwise perfectly polished for some time inside the tanning bed.

The Baby One More Time singer had a bright and glossy slick of hot pink lipstick along with a lacy black choker necklace and several beaded bracelets to glam up the sporty outfit.

Britney looked ready to hit the gym in a pink off-the-shoulder sweatshirt, tank top worn underneath, and a pair grey shorts to show off the results of all her hard work from dance rehearsals.

She accessorized with a pair of circular sunglasses and carried her belongings inside a studded leather purse.

Britney, meanwhile, has been delighting fans with new music as her latest album, Glory, was released back in August.

But for now, the Toxic singer appears to be enjoying a bit of a break in California before returning to Las Vegas for her residency at Planet Hollywood.

The hit-maker will be back on stage of The AXIS as her residency continues on October 19.

The singer has just returned from a trip to the U.K., where she had an interview with Rylan Clark-Neal shown on This Morning.

On her three year Vegas residency, Rylan asked if she was tired especially after signing for another two years.

Britney replied, 'You know what, actually it’s fine, I have three shows a week, I work every other six weeks, so it’s kind of cool... it’s not like its tremendous on my body - and my body is actually kind of used to it after three years of doing this - it kind of knows.'

When asked if her sons - Sean and Jayden - are fans of her music, Britney replied, 'Yes, but they have their own thing going on, they are very, very meticulous about what they listen to and what they want to hear.

'They’ve just got new DJ sets in their room so they are constantly… they are really brilliant, really good. They’ll give their dad a run for their money!'

Britney's two sons are from her previous marriage to Kevin Federline.
