One Direction, who are currently on a hiatus, formed in 2010 after failing to progress on The X Factor UK and have since become one of the higest-selling boy bands of all time.

They quickly rose to global stardom with the help of Simon Cowell and they continue to dominate pop charts around the world despite the 2015 departure of Zayn Malik.
