The 26-year-old from Newcastle reveals on this week's Celebrity Botched Up Bodies that she first starting trying to plump up her pout before she was famous with disastrous results.

Despite having a bad reaction to the cut-price filler that left her looking 'like the Elephant Man', she wasn't put off and regularly continues to have the beauty treatment.

Now she's been warned by consultant plastic surgeon Niall Kirkpatrick on the Channel 5 show that she should quit the habit for the sake of her health, but she said it is hard due to the pressure she's under to look good in the public eye.

'It is addictive you want to get more and more, it is so hard to stop,' she said.

'I live in this social media world where you have got to look amazing, you get more work and you get sponsored if you look amazing, so I feel like I have to look amazing all the time.'

She added: 'There is a massive pressure with fame to look good, you have to look perfect in all the pictures you put up on Instagram and Twitter or you get grief.'

Niall warned Sophie that she was taking a big risk with the injections as the industry is unregulated.

He said: 'Very few fillers have gone through any clinical trials so those who use them do so with a degree of unknown risk and complications can be severe.

'Everyone is at risk of reacting to something injected into them so there is no safe filler.'

This is something Sophie has already discovered to her cost.

At the age of 20, before she joined the cast of MTV's Geordie Shore, she had cut-price filler at a friend's house which led to her lip severely swelling.

She admits she was a 'stupid girl' to have had the £50 injections - as she had no idea what what substance was put into her body.

'I remember leaving that woman's house thinking my lips look great and then realised it wasn't even filler that I was getting in my lips, it was silicone or saline,' she said.

'At the time I thought I was big and clever and looked amazing but in reality I just looked like the Elephant Man,' she said.

'They were massive it looked like I had a fight with Mike Tyson. My lips were horrendous and lumpy it wasn't even. What an idiot, I didn't know what it was.'

However, the experience didn't put her off and she went on to have more filler after it was offered to her for free by beauty salons once she became famous.

'When I was offered more for free of course I snapped it up, who wouldn't when it is free?' she said.

But as her lips kept becoming lumpy and sore, she eventually saw a surgeon who injected an antidote to dissolve the filler.

Since then, she has plumped them up again and admits she still isn't happy with them.

She saw Niall in the hope he could help, but instead he advised her to stop using filler altogether.

You have lost sight of the base line of what is normal,' he told her of her hang-up over the size of her lips.

'I would suggest stop using filler. You don't need them.'

When Sophie said it would be hard to quit - but she would try to reduced the number of times she gets filler a year - he suggested she seek counselling.

Celebrity Botched Bodies is on Channel 5 Thursdays at 10pm
