And Ashley Olsen's unconventional sense of style came to the fore again when she wore a multi-patterned cardigan in New York on Thursday.

The 30-year-old retired actress seemed in her usual high spirits as she rubbed shoulders with the proles in the bustling metropolis.

The Adventures of Mary-Kate And Ashley favourite looked in fine form indeed in her unconventional piece of knitwear, which she combined with a puffer jacket and black boots.

Ashley, who was born in the uber posh Sherman Oaks area of Los Angeles, rounded off her look with a pair of attention-grabbing comically oversized sunglasses.

The self-styled fashion designer, who is worth an estimated $150 million, had opted for brighter tones than the previous day.

For she once again wore knitwear as she ventured out in an all-black ensemble in the Big Apple on Wednesday.

Ashley has been single since she split from Bennett Miller earlier this year.

And back in June she was romantically linked to a new man, 59-year-old artist George Condo after they were spotted together at the Mercer Hotel in New York.

Ashley's twin sister Mary-Kate also has a thing for more mature men. She is married to megarich businessman Olivier Sarkozy, 47, who is worth an estimated $60 million.

However her spokesperson denied the New York Minute star and the drawer were an item.
