The 29-year-old looked in fine form indeed in a woolly jumper, though it was her tight leather trousers that really caught the eye.

Five-time grand slam winner Maria has claimed her two year suspension for taking drugs being reduced by nine months by a Court of Arbitration for Sport panel is a victory, despite the fact she concealed the fact she was using meldonium from tennis authorities and even her own team for years.

The former Wimbledon champion said in January, upon the announcement of her failed test, that she used the drug for health issues after being given it by her family doctor.

Meldonium was banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency on January 1 due to its ability to increase the delivery of oxygen to muscles, in turn improving stamina and endurance.

Professor Xavier Bigard, scientific advisor to the French Agency Against Doping, has said a wide proportion of athletes admitted taking meldonium at last year’s European Games.

The World Anti-Doping Agency also found 'evidence of its use by athletes with the intention of enhancing performance.'

Maria previously admitted she received an email from WADA on December 22, reminding her of the alterations to the list of banned substances but claimed she did not bother to click on the link provided.

The International Tennis Federation said in June, upon announcing the two-year ban, that Sharapova's use of meldonium 'is only consistent with an intention to boost her energy levels'.

However the ITF was chastised by the CAS panel for not properly informing players of changes to WADA's banned list.

It also said she was 'the sole author of her own misfortune', and pointed out that she had deliberately 'concealed' the use of Meldonium from everyone she worked with bar her manager at IMG, Max Eisenbud.

Despite having six months of her suspension for taking a banned substance still to run, she will join Martina Navratilova, John McEnroe and Andy Roddick for the Aids fundraiser at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas next Monday.
