That'll buy you plenty of Krystle! Dynasty star Linda Evans 'offered £500,000 pay day' as she signs up for Celebrity Big Brother

Channel 5 is reportedly coughing up £500,000 in a bid to lure former Dynasty star Linda Evans into the Celebrity Big Brother house.

The long-running reality show returns in January and Linda – better known for her iconic role as ‘super bitch’ Krystle Carrington in Dynasty – is believed to be their marquee signing.

A source told the Daily Mirror: ‘The producers are blowing a lot of their casting budget to secure Linda. They know she’ll be dynamite. She will also bring in older viewers who were fans of Dynasty.’

The actress’s package is thought to include a first class flight to London from her native United States and a temporary stay at a top London hotel prior to her appearance on the show.

Linda became a TV icon in the 1980s thanks to her role in US soap Dynasty from 1981 to 1989, starring alongside Joan Collins, Heather Locklear and John Forsythe.

Fans have already been given a first look inside the Hertfordshire based Big Brother compound, which has been given Twisted Fairytale makeover.

Gone are the modern and minimalist furnishings of last series and in their place are glittering chandeliers, a grand banquet table and amazing forest artwork.

Meanwhile, the Channel 5 show's host Emma Willis has dropped hints about what to expect when the popular programme returns, promising one of the best ever line-ups.

She teased to Digital Spy: 'This is going to be one of the best ever series of the show.

'I have such high hopes for the series - that's how good I think it's going to be.

'You won't not recognise anybody if it stays like this. This year seems like a proper stellar cast and that's always great to watch.'

Model and actor Calum Best, ex Big Breakfast presenter Keith Chegwin and the X Factor's Jake Quickenden have all been linked to the show, but nobody has yet been confirmed.

Actress Patsy Kensit, controversial TV personality Katie Hopkins and former EastEnders star Daniella Westbrook's names have also been thrown about.

Celebrity Big Brother returns on 7 January at 9pm on Channel 5.
