'Adults deserve a sex life too!' New trailer for My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 sees Toula and Ian get caught out trying to get intimate in a car by her father Gus

They were a hit as the couple who coped with their interfering but well meaning Greek family as they prepared to tie the knot.

Fast forward 12 years, since the original My Big Fat Greek Wedding, and it looks like the sequel is set to Oscar nominated smash hit is set to be as hilarious as the first movie.

In a trailer released on Wednesday, it was revealed that Toula (Nia Vardalos) and Ian (John Corbett)  are now parents with a teenage daughter, and planning for another set of nuptials.

But ironically it is for the parents of the bride Gus (Michael Constantine) and Maria (Lainie Kazan) - who discover their 1946 wedding certificate never got signed and they are not legally married.

Toula and Ian are also seen trying to find alone time for themselves with hilarious results.

The couple are seen grappling in a car with each other as they try to get intimate, only to be interrupted by Gus who knocks on the window saying: 'Adults deserve a sex life too.'

Toula is also given the advice by her Aunt Toula (Andrea Martin) 'Shave everything.' 

The pair are also struggling with being parents to teenager Paris (Elena Kampouris) which provides it's own humour.

They seem to be grappling with the same issues her mother an father did in the original.

Having said her family is still 'too close' the entire clan accompany daughter Paris to a school volleyball game - who then announces she wants to attend a college far away from he relatives.

Toula pleads with her daughter: 'Why do you want to leave me?'

The line was one delivered to her character in the original by her father Gus who quips: 'Payback.'

However Gus thinks it is funny uttering: 'Paybak'

As Paris tries to extricate herself from her well meaning but slightly suffocating family, she is given dating advice by Gus which includes: 'Keep your eyeballs open for a nice Greek boy, so one day you can make babies.'

Meanwhile when Toula's parents discover they aren't legally wed, her mother announces: 'I'm a hippie!'

Much fun ensues as they begin to plan their big day, which sees the bridal party exchanging sex advice which includes: 'Eyes open knees shut - if your knees are open, shut your eyes.' 

He also has some advice for his grand daughter and says: 'Keep your eyeballs open for a nice Greek boy, so one day you can make babies'

The sequel has been directed by Kirk Jones and debuts March 25 2015.

Filming finished in late June and will see the addition of John Stamos to the cast.

However favourites such as NSYNC's Joey Fatone are set to return.
