Rita Ora has tried to take a philosophical stance on her acrimonious break up with Calvin Harris calling him the 'right guy at the wrong time' but it appears the Scottish hitmaker has quite a different opinion on the whole situation.

In a candid interview with Capital FM on Sunday, Calvin scathingly revealed there was no love lost between them and he is over the 23-year-old pop singer.

But Rita appeared unconcerned, stepping out in New  York two days later dressed to kill in thigh high boots and a bright red coat.

Her confident appearance came just two days after Calvin said: 'I haven’t seen her since, like, March.'

When asked if it felt strange not being in contact when they were once so close, he added: 'It’s brilliant. It’s great. It’s just stress-free. It’s beautiful.'

The 30-year-old DJ also told presenter Max that following his split from Rita, he has no interest in dating famous women.

Asked whether he fancied Rihanna, whom he has collaborated with on We Found Love, the hunk said: 'She is she is absolutely, stunningly beautiful. I don't like celebrities, celebrity women. Nah.'

The couple's split turned acrimonious after Calvin banned Rita from performing a song he had written for her.

He then defended his decision on social media, and revealed just how awkward things had become between them by tweeting that he had a 'damn good reason'.

But Calvin now thinks he should not 'have really done it' because 'it didn't do any good'.

The star, who is celebrating his latest album, Motion, was forced to pull out of Sunday's MTV European Music Awards due to health issues.

On Twitter, the DJ wrote: 'No EMAs for me this weekend. Got some heart problems. Heading home to see if it can be fixed x.'

In an interview with the U.S. December issue of Cosmopolitan magazine, Rita, who is now dating Ricky Hilfiger, explained that distance caused them to grow apart.

'I was about to start a tour, and he was also all over the place,' she revealed.

'There’s only so much you can do when you don’t see each other.'
