Arsenal are considering a January swoop for Charlton teenager Ademola Lookman.

And the teenager has earned excellent reviews, with Arsenal now preparing to intensify their interest.

Charlton are keen to tie Lookman down to a new contract, but the interest from Arsenal is likely to represent a stumbling block towards the Addicks' hopes.

Lookman was plucked south London side Waterloo FC in 2014 before his meteoric rise through the club's academy system.

Arsenal have found the lower leagues a productive breeding ground for talent in recent seasons.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Carl Jenkinson were signed from Southampton and Charlton, respectively, in 2011.

Prior to their arrivals, Aaron Ramsey signed from Cardiff in 2008 while Theo Walcott signed from the Saints in 2006.
