Sandra Bullock, Anne Hathaway and Rihanna will start shooting all-female Oceans Eleven-type movie in NYC this month for 2018 release
Ocean's Eight has been given a release date even though filming has yet to begin.
The movie is slated for June 8, 2018, according to a Thursday Hollywood Reporter article.
The all-female reboot of the movie franchise will star Anne Hathaway, Sandra Bullock, Helena Bonham Carter, Cate Blanchett, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Mindy Kaling and rapper Awkwafina.
Ready to steal: Sandra Bullock is one of the stars of the new Oceans 8 film; here she is seen in October
Her costar: Bullock will work with Anne Hathaway. Filming takes place this month in NYC
She will have a part too: Rihanna is also in the caper that has been given a June 8, 2018 release date
Shooting is set to start in New York this month.
Although the plot has been kept under wraps, it has been reported that the film will see the girl gang undergo a heist at the Met Gala.
The first Ocean's 11 movie was made in 1960 and saw Frank Sinatra in the title role of Danny Ocean, with his co-stars including fellow Rat Pack members Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford and Joey Bishop.
The first remake: George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Elliott Gould, Don Cheadle and Matt Damon in Oceans Eleven in 2001
Tops: Pitt and Clooney were at their height of their career when they made the movie in Las Vegas
Clooney took on the titular role in the 2001 movie Ocean's Eleven, reprising the part for Ocean's Twelve in 2004 and Ocean's Thirteen three years later.
And Ocean's Eight director Gary Ross has promised the new movie will be an 'extension and a continuation' of the previous movies.
He said: 'You know, Steven Soderbergh (who directed the Clooney-trilogy) and I are incredibly close friends, and we would not have done this if we weren't.
The next one: The sequel Oceans Twelve was shot all over Europe
'I don't think he would've wanted anyone to do it if we weren't. This is very much an extension and a continuation. He's a producer on the movie.'
Meanwhile, Matt Damon, who played pickpocket Linus Caldwell alongside Clooney and Brad Pitt in the three previous Ocean's movies - has said the upcoming female reboot is a great idea.
He gushed: 'I think it's going to be awesome. 'They're going to kick ass.'
Just for fun: The 52-year-old Pitt was in disguise for this scene in the 2007 film
