Idina Menzel has revealed that Matt Damon is her big celebrity crush.

While sitting down with Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday the singer recalled her time in Broadway's Wicked when she would get famous visitors backstage.

The Frozen star confessed she desperately wanted Jimmy's nemesis Damon to visit her.

She said: 'I always dreamed of Matt Damon coming back[stage],' she admitted. 'I'm sorry!' she added guiltily to Kimmel.

After her friends confirmed the Good Will Hunting star would be watching one night Idina said 'I'd hit the high note for Matt Damon, and it turned out he was never there,'

It seems Matt had bought the tickets for his parents instead.

'What a son of a bitch,' Kimmel quipped.

Eventually the actor did turn up to see her perform, but with his wife, the 45-year-old actress revealed with disappointment.

'He looked like he hated Wicked. He just seemed to hate me. I think he hated me.' the actress said of when the Martian star finally did come to the show

The host surprised the Disney star with a video link of Matt, who apologised to Idina for giving her the wrong impression about hating Wicked.

'I'm kind of hurt by this. I loved Wicked' The 45-year-old actor said

The actress blushed as she started chatting to the star but Kimmel's patience was already worn thin as he cut the actor off and said 'Sorry, we don't have time.' - much as he is prone to doing when Matt is involved.

Realising he wasn't going to get on the show once again, the Jason Bourne star reluctantly held a 'next up' sign for the camera to introduce Idina's performance before sullenly flashing another card which read 'And then not Matt Damon'.
