Best on our desks: This week, a make-up brush shaped like a HEART, an all-in-one eye, lip and cheek stick and a Selena lipstick top our beauty picks

One of the (major) perks of being a beauty editor is getting to test every new product under the sun. The amount of things brands send to us on the regular is dizzying - in the absolute best of ways.

Because of this, the number-one question we get asked is 'Ooh, what are you liking right now?' The answer? So. Many. Things.

In an effort to make our answer a little more specific, each week we tell you the best hair, make-up, nail and skin care products that crossed our desks recently. Read on, try them for yourselves and feel free to take all the credit when your friends ask why you look so amazing lately.

It Cosmetics Love Beauty Fully Love Is the Foundation Brush

'My regular It Cosmetics foundation brush is already my ride-or-die beauty tool because the densely-packed bristles ensure my BB cream looks like it was airbrushed onto my face. So I literally gasped aloud when I saw this limited-edition version. The bristles are shaped like a heart. It's pink. It's crazy soft. It works. And for the month of October, for each brush purchased, another will be donated to the American Cancer Society's Look Good Feel Better program. I might need to buy more than one.'

MAC Selena Collection Lipstick in Como la Flor

'While I’ve been anticipating the release of the Mac Selena Collection, my expectations were high. And as always Mac never fails to deliver a great go-to red lipstick. Como la Flor is the perfect extension of Selena, bold yet soft. It’s less intense than some other reds, so you can totally get away with wearing it during the day and straight into the night.'

Alima Pure Pressed Eyeshadow in Luxe

'There are days when I want a little extra oomph in terms of eye make-up, but I rarely have the patience or time to deal with liquid eyeliner. At a recent event for mineral-based beauty brand Alima Pure, a make-up artist introduced me to an easy solution that I’ve repeated often since, which is to swipe a shimmery copper eyeshadow shade from the line along my lower lashline. The effect is subtle, but it packs a punch. The shadow adds definition without overpowering the area and brings out the green in my hazel eyes. I also love that the creamy powder pigment is formulated with avocado and jojoba oils, so it doesn’t dry out or irritate my sensitive skin.'

Bite Beauty Multistick

'As a woman with limited time in the morning (aren't we all?), I'm always drawn to lip-and-cheek products that help me get out the door faster. The Bite Multistick even works on eyes, so it's even more versatile than two-in-ones I've used in the past. Plus, it's matte, which means there's much less chance of rubbing too much color in one place. In fact, I've found that just patting the Papaya shade along my cheekbones gives me the perfect flush. I find the velvety feel of the packaging and magnetic closure endlessly delightful as well.'

Natura Bisse Diamond Extreme Night Dual Treatment

'This treatment involves the use of two products – the Diamond Extreme Oil and the Diamond Extreme Mask. Natura Bisse suggests applying the oil first, then the mask but – being the rebel that I am – I’ve actually found they work best for me when applied together. I mix a few drops of the oil with a half-a-dime-sized portion of the mask and then apply the mixture to my face with my hands.

'My skin instantly looks brighter and feels so much softer – and by the time I wake up in the morning, any redness or dullness that I was struggling with has vanished.'
