EXCLUSIVE: Break-ins and stalkers and hacks, oh my! Forget Paris - The Kardashians claim to take security at their Los Angeles homes seriously but are they taking their safety for granted?

  • Kris Jenner has repeatedly brought up security fears for her family, but her daughters have told her she's being over dramatic
  • While she claims to have increased her security, the family has faced several break ins, stalkers and even an iCloud hack
  • Kendall Jenner is one of the family's most vulnerable, as she is the only one to not live in a gated community
  • Earlier this year she was the subject of an attack by stalker Shavaughn McKenzie, who had been tracking her for months
  • Kris once called authorities after pizza delivered to their home featured a marriage proposal to Kylie Jenner
  • Once Kris sacked her entire security team after a man broke into her home while Kim, 35, and ten-month-old son Saint were there

The Kardashian family has a long history of making serious missteps when it comes to getting their security right. And they don't hesitate talking about it.

They regularly discuss their need for security on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and several security breaches have been mentioned on the show. Kris speaks about her family’s safety and even upping the presence of armed guards.

But in the wake of Kim Kardashian's robbery horror in Paris, DailyMail.com can reveal that while the family claim to act tough on security and make it a priority, the reality might be a different story.

Kendall Jenner may be the most vulnerable member of the family. She bought a $6.5million property in June, just a few hundred yards from the famous celebrity haunt Chateau Marmont, in West Hollywood.

Two months later, she was the subject of an attack by stalker Shavaughn McKenzie, who'd been tracking her for months and followed her onto the property when she drove into it.

McKenzie allegedly tried convincing Kendall as he shouted, 'Hey look, I don't have a gun,' while throwing his hands in the air to reassure the panicked model, who called 911.

At the time, Kendall wrote on her official blog that she had been rattled by the security breach, especially after Scott Disick had also recently been robbed.

She wrote: 'Obviously, the night a stalker followed me into my property was so scary and I'm still recovering from it, but I've SERIOUSLY ramped up my security since.

'I now know I need people protecting me 24/7 because even if I lived in a gated community, I would still be vulnerable. Scott's house was robbed! I feel much safer now that I have so much security.'

Since then, TMZ reported that Kendall had 'drafted in extra guards to patrol the grounds and sit outside her house,' but there appears little evidence of that.

The reality star's property does not appear to have cameras on the outside of the property and many of her borders with neighbors are just trees or bushes, barely five or six feet tall.

Her property is the only Kardashian home not in a gated community - apparently this worried her 60-year-old mom Kris - and it's on a public road in a densely populated area of Los Angeles.

Her neighbors include Cameron Diaz and Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel lives across the road, but he's made his home a fortified compound, comprising of two houses and a 12-foot surrounding fence. Kendall's home is simply is fenced in by numerous neighbors.

But the family - especially Kendall and Kylie - have had close calls with security breaches, with stalkers attempting to get into Kendall's home

She also has the added problem of vacant land behind her home, which is accessible from a public road.

West Hollywood is a desirable locale, but crime ridden. Kendall lives in an area with a crime index of nine - 100 being the safest - which means it's in the bottom ten per cent of US cities for security.

There is also 4.5 per cent chance of a house being burgled, with a fifth of break-ins being violent. There are 850 crimes per square mile in the area, compared to the national average of 32.8.

Kimmel, 48, told Kendall on his Jimmy Kimmel Live TV show last month said that residents were far from impressed with her arrival, saying: 'Our neighbors were up in arms when you moved onto the block.

'There was a whole thing with emails that went on. It was bad… I'm the captain of the neighborhood watch. Don't worry, I'll shuffle down in my underpants and take care of whatever is going on.'

Kendall admitted: 'I think I caused quite a ruckus on our street - I had like stalkers. There's a lot going on.'

She's not the only one of the family, who's had security issues.

Even the matriarch and 'momager' Kris Jenner has had her own terrifying episodes.

In July 2014, a stalker broke into her house in the exclusive gated community of Hidden Hills, Calabasas, home to stars such as Jennifer Lopez and Drake.

A 20-year-old man is said to have claimed to be Kris' daughter Kendall's boyfriend and Justin Bieber's stepbrother.

As a result, the compound 'was to be protected by armed guards in two separate vehicles which monitor the property and detect any unauthorized entry'.

But only a month later, there was more talk of 'ramping up security' after threats were allegedly made against her teenage daughters Kendall and Kylie, which came about after the FBI stormed a hotel room.

Then, in April 2015, Kris's personal assistant revealed that the reality star's iCloud had been hacked and a video that was taken in her personal closet had been obtained, according to Buzzfeed.

In the video, Kris was naked and hackers demanded money in exchange for returning the tape.

Kris told her family that this was a 'lesson for them all' and that she would be taking security to a 'whole new level'.

In December 2015  she fired her entire security team after a man broke into her home, while Kim, 35, and ten-month-old son Saint were there, and the place was being decorated for Christmas.

According to reports at the time, the intruder said he was even sent to the property by Hidden Hills security, as he claimed to have a meeting with her.

Kris was also seen on the family's reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians hiring armed security to patrol her home, but there seems little evidence of them around the property.

Aerial images show that Kris' house has a two-foot wooden fence surrounding the property, which is usually used as borders for woodland, not to protect A-list celebrities.

As illustrated by what happened to Kris, these so-called exclusive gated communities aren't always as secure as they seem.

The Hidden Hills enclave is home to Kris, Scott Disick, Kylie Jenner and Kim and Kanye, whose $20million property is currently being renovated.

But residents in the past have complained that all you need is a 'white sticker' saying Hidden Hills to get through security, and have been told that the entrances are just for 'traffic policing' and not security.

Also the back entries of these exclusive areas are normally just a gate, as is the case for Hidden Hills and nearby The Oaks, where Khloe Kardashian, sister Kourtney and brother Rob all own properties.

According to The Guardian in May 2015, one resident told them just how weak the security system was, saying: 'What they actually do there is operate a regular intercom system linking each house with the front gate. It doesn't look at all glamorous or hidden.'

Kim and husband Kanye West currently live in the exclusive Bel Air Crest gated community, but are due to move into their $20million Hidden Hills home once their extensive renovations have been completed.

Their three-acre estate is undergoing a major transformation and they'll be facing their own security nightmare to make it fully fenced off, as it is surrounded by a forest.

Both Khloe, 33, and Kourtney, 37, have also been hit with robberies, which were thought to have been connected and inside jobs.

In March 2014, Khloe had $250,000 worth of jewelry taken from her home. And then two months later, $50,000 in cash was taken from Kourtney's $7.45million home in The Oaks, as well as a further $4,000 from her rental home in the Hamptons.

Khloe bought Justin Bieber's place in March 2014 for $7.2million. The home has six beds and seven bathrooms.

But when brother Rob moved out - Kris bought him a $2.3million pad in The Oaks - Khloe admitted to feeling lonely, telling people on her app: 'When Rob lived with me, we would watch movies or TV. We'd eat together and talk about stuff that happened that day.

'I miss those things. It's a big house, so to combat lonely energy, I play music. The worst thing about living alone ... is that I'm alone! My house is filled with people during the day. After they leave, it's quiet.'

But one business associate says that she spends a lot more on staff than she does on her security, adding: 'She will drive to sets of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, or when she's doing her own personal stuff, and there's lines of blacked out cars.

'You think they're all security, but they're not, they're just hanger-ons. The TV crew doesn't have a clue who they are, they just annoy the hell out of everyone by being in the way, slowing production down.

'They're not security, in fact they make her less secure, as she's more erratic in their company and unpredictable, going this way or that, rather than sticking to the script, so to speak. She needs security, pre-prepared routines, so that she's always safe.'

Another one of the family to be hit with problems is Scott Disick, 33, the father Kourtney's kids, who has shown that a robbery at his property hasn't changed his attitude to security.

He lives only a few hundred yards from Kris and was robbed in May this year, when thieves broke in and stole jewelry and two watches worth $80,000 while he was in Cannes.

But his home hasn't any security in sight and he has a fence surrounding his property which a child could climb over.

The only home not to be hit so far belongs to Kylie Jenner, 19, who has been buying up property in the Hidden Hills area this year.

In May, she bought a $6million home, then in August she purchased the $4.5million property next door, and, most recently, bought an eight-bed, 11 bathroom place for $12million.

Still, Kylie has had her fair share of security issues. Last year  20 pizzas were delivered to Kris' home, including one that featured a marriage proposal to Kylie.

Kris feared for the family's safety, called authorities and told her daughters not the eat the pizza in fear it might be poisoned.

Her daughters, however, accused her of being overdramatic.

In another instance, Kourtney and Khloe realized that Kylie's use of social media posed as a security threat, especially when she would share photos in identifiable locations in real time.

She said on KUWTK that police had warned her about the issue but she Kylie ignored the advice.

Kourtney concocted a plan to tie balloons to Kylie's car while she was out to lunch - after snapping from the restaurant paparazzi and fans arrived at the scene.

After the incident, Kourtney suggested Kylie Snapchat on airplane mode and upload the photos and videos at a later time to keep her location private.
