Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt split in September after only two years as a married couple.

On Thursday People reported the movie stars started having problems soon after they tied the knot in the south of France at Chateau Miraval in the summer of 2014. 

They spent their honeymoon working on her film By The Sea - which she wrote, directed and starred in with Pitt. There was tension between the the 41-year-old beauty and the 52-year-old icon as they filmed the drama in Malta, it has been claimed.

'They hardly spoke when they were together,' a source that was on the set told the publication.

And it was also claimed that on the weekends, they went their separate ways. When they were together on set they were 'quite distant,' it was added.

'He would be very quiet and just keep to himself,' said a source. 'Angelina was never with him.'

Also this week UsWeekly reported there is a lot of 'bad blood' between the stars.  

The magazine claimed Jolie is 'seething' as she plots her exit from her two year marriage to Pitt. It was added that something he did made her 'very pissed off.'

The looker has been reportedly holed up in a Malibu rental with all six children: Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and eight-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

Meanwhile, the publication added that Pitt is 'frustrated.'

'Brad just wants to work through everything and get to a place where there can be some certainty about what's going on,' a source told UsWeekly. 'The kids are the only thing he's hanging on to.'

That means Pitt has no plans to reconcile with the UN Goodwill Ambassador and Special Envoy.  

As far as making her look bad, the insider said that will not happen.

'There is so much stuff on Angelina but Brad just doesn't want to go there. He told his team he doesn't want to play dirty,' the source claimed.

There was no hint as to what that 'stuff' could be.

A source also told the magazine the Department Of Children And Family Services has made suggestions to the couple about what to change.

They were called in September by an anonymous tipster after an alleged fight that involved Pitt, Jolie and Maddox aboard a private jet that was heading from Nice, France to Los Angeles, California, according to TMZ. A pit stop for gasoline was made in Missouri.

The next step in the split is for the two to agree on a long-term custody arrangement. They have a temporary once in place until October 20.
