'My life could potentially be in danger again': Tori Spelling admits concerns after revealing she's pregnant with FIFTH child

Tori Spelling had a potentially life-threatening time during her previous pregnancy with son Finn.

The 43-year-old was understandably concerned when she learned she was expecting another surprise baby due to the dangerous complications she suffered in the past.

Tori's first thought when she found out was that 'my life could potentially be in danger again,' as she told People.

But Tori and her husband Dean McDermott, 49, have been assured by their doctor that this pregnancy shows no signs of the problems that wrecked so much havoc the last time.

The former Beverly Hills, 90210 star almost died in childbirth due to the complications surrounding her pregnancy with Finn, now four.

Tori was diagnosed with placenta previa in the 20th week of her term in which the placenta covers the cervix and causes internal bleeding.

The star was rushed to hospital where she spent 10 weeks receiving treatment followed by four months of bed rest, and was very close to having her pregnancy terminated in order to save her life.

She persevered and eventually gave birth to Finn Davey McDermott on August 30, 2012.

The latest pregnancy came as 'a total surprise,' and a troubling one too, Tori admitted.

'I thought if we had another baby, my life could potentially be in danger,' Tori told People.

'Once we found out I was pregnant, we didn't get excited until we knew I didn't have placenta previa again. With Finn, everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.'

Added Spelling: 'Dean and I created four beautiful children together and the thought of them not having a mother (if something went wrong) was not something we were okay with.'

Fortunately, this pregnancy is showing no evidence of the dreaded placenta previa.

'We were so happy once we found out,' Tori added.

Dean said: 'The doctor said that considering everything that happened the last time, this is a miracle baby that Tori got pregnant and that it’s okay.'

Their marriage was tested in the not-too-distant past over Dean's cheating scandal.

This difficult period in their lives during which they sought counselling was documented on their reality show True Tori.

The happy baby news follows news that Tori owes $37,981.97 to American Express after the creditor successfully sued the reality star for the overdue balance on her account.

American Express received a judgment for the full balance, plus interest, against the star after filing a lawsuit in January.
