The 'Clown Purge' craze which has Australia on high alert has intensified, as costumed creeps menace victims with machetes and vigilantes lash out at the pranksters. Images and footage of sinister clowns in all corners of the country is fuelling social media hysteria, and prompted vigilante 'clown hunting' groups to take matters into their own hands. Social media posts have claimed a clown was hospitalised after being king-hit in in Sydney's south, as more chilling sightings pop up the nation-over.

Jack Walker resigned as a senior policy adviser a day after arriving back in Australia from the Budgie Nine fiasco where he and eight others spent four days in a Malaysian jail for stripping to budgie smugglers at a Formula 1 race last weekend. Mr Pyne said the disgraced staffer offered me his resignation and he had accepted it. 'Jack indicated to me his deep regret for causing any embarrassment to the government and apologised,' he said. Lauren Venning, 25, and husband James, 26, married on his family farm in the South Australian town of Bute just days after the state was hit with the biggest storm seen in 50 years. The couple, as well as 1.7 million other South Australians, were left without power on the Wednesday before the wedding thanks to a state-wide blackout. But luckily, the rain held off long enough for the couple to finish their vows, only starting to pour when the ceremony finished.

NEW A North Carolina teen has a cheeky solution to questions he receives about his height. Logan, of Holly Springs, gave his classmate Heather a business card after she asked how tall he is. Heather posted an image of the card on Twitter this week (left). The card lists Logan's height as 6'7" - and says 'Yes, really' in parentheses. Logan and Heather are pictured together on the right.

More than 200,000 fans flocked to Bathurst for the biggest V8 supercars race of the year, with early birds staking out a prime spot on 'The Hill' and downing an impressive amount of beer despite strict alcohol limits - of one carton of 24 cans of beer or pre-mixed spirits per person, per day. There were also many weird and wonderful costumes and accessories as fans showed their racing allegiances and national pride - or just zany personalities. The main Bathurst 1000 event will begin at 11.10am on Sunday with Jamie Whincup clinching pole position.

Jaber Albakr (left), 22, from Damascus, is still at large after police raided an apartment on an estate in the eastern city of Chemnitz (right), and found quantities of explosives. Mass operation has been launched (inset) and three people have since been arrested in relation to the incident, two of the group in custody knew Albakr. A third suspect is being questioned near the train station in the city, where a bomb disposal robot has removed a red suitcase from the platform. German media are claiming that Albakr has links to ISIS extremists, although this is yet to be confirmed by the authorities.

Music fans around the world and Minnesota residents have long wondered about Paisley Park, the late pop icon Prince's mysterious studio complex to which few have had full access. On Thursday, the mystery came to an end for some fans who snared tour tickets and descended on the Minneapolis suburb of Chanhassen to see inside the late Purple Rain star's 55,000-square-foot inner sanctum. The complex opened in 1987, and was a fully functional recording studio used by a number of artists during its peak in the 1990s. While some parts of Paisley Park were now outfitted to exhibit memorabilia, other areas -- such as his working studio -- have been left untouched since the singer's death, tour attendees said. Rooms in the studio complex were themed according to Prince's albums, like Graffiti Bridge or Purple Rain. The superstar's vast collection of distinctive costumes, pianos and guitars from each time period were on display throughout.

Angela Jones, of Charleston, South Carolina, was shocked to see a person looting her home on security footage after she evacuated her home. Jones had to flee her home on Thursday due to the ferocious storm moving up the east coast. With two young children, the family didn't want to risk not having access to emergency services. Before leaving, Jones set up a security service called Canary in her home, which allows her to see the house's interior on her phone. At 9.15pm on Thursday, Canary notified Jones that someone was inside her house. An unidentified woman could be seen taking small items and then leaving the home on the security video. Police say they are investigating.

After the Friday release of a tape from 2005 that caught Donald Trump making lewd comments about women, the Republican nominee said his campaign isn't in crisis and there is 'zero chance' he's going to drop out. Trump claimed he was receiving tremendous support from his backers and even tweeted out Saturday morning that it had been an 'interesting 24 hours' (insert). Idaho Senator Mike Crapo (left) and New Hampshire Senator Kelly Ayotte (right) have officially said they can no longer vote for Trump. Additionally, dozens of Republicans have either rescinded their support or called on Trump to drop out of the race following the remarks made in the hot mic tape from an Access Hollywood shoot.

At the age of 16 he started his transformation into Kelly Star, a transgender model who now claims to boast 'Australia's largest breast implants' (middle). A terrifying video of a Boeing aircraft aborting its landing was captured in Prague as the plane went up against some very strong cross winds while trying to land (top left). Videographer, Radko Nasinec, captured the cringe-worthy footage of the Boeing 737-430 (bottom left) narrowly avoiding a crash as its wheels grazed the runway. The video, which was shot at the Václav Havel Airport in Prague, Czech Republic, shows the airplane swaying back and forth and dipping to the right (top right) as it was attempting its first landing. The pilot was forced to pull up (bottom right) quickly because of the large gusts of wind that caused it to sway violently back and forth. The pilot then reascended and flew the plane back into the holding pattern in preparation for the second landing. During the second attempt to land, the plane once again swayed back and forth on its way down, but this time the pilot was able to make a safe landing.

Two women were arrested after a handwritten sign posted outside their door about 'snitches' tipped police off to heroin and methamphetamine inside. April Lynn Lavender, 38, (left) and Kristie Weis, 22, (right) were arrested after deputies responded to a joyriding complaint in Oak Hill, West Virginia, on Thursday morning. A bright pink note on the front door which read 'Due to snitches everyone entering my home is subject to being searched. All cell phones and drinks will be left outside!! If you're not a snitch, it won't offend you if I search you!'

Brittanee Marie Drexel, 17 (inset), traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, from Rochester, New York, with some friends without telling her parents, and disappeared without a trace on April 25, 2009. This past summer, the FBI revealed that Drexel had been raped, murdered and left in an alligator pit about an hour from the hotel in McClellanville, where she is believed to have been held in a house for at least three days. On Friday, Dawn and Chad Drexel appeared on Dr. Phil (the couple pictured together in the studio, main), sharing for the first-time information they have received about what happened to their daughter. No charges have ever been filed and the body has never been found.

A wing suit jumper became stuck as he jumped out of plane to perform a routine parachute jump. The incident which lasted for around 30 seconds must have seemed like an eternity to daredevil jumper, Miles Daisher. In what was one of his closest calls ever, he was left to dangle helplessly as he was dragged through the air by the Cessna aircraft.

Footage has captured a truck colliding with a ute after the driver suddenly pulls out on the wrong side of the road to do a U-turn. Footage from Oakdale, in Sydney's south-west, shows a ute turning into the path of the truck who clips the vehicle after swerving up onto an embankment to avoid a worse crash. Commenters have applauded the driver for his quick reflexes and hailed him a hero for saving the other motorist's life.

A one legged burglar who was filmed wheeling himself to an apartment, breaking in and making off with a flat screen television has been jailed. Michael Flanagan, who lost a leg due to a heroin addiction, was sentenced to 26 months on Friday by Teesside Crown Court for burgling the property in Stockton and an unrelated fraud charge. The one legged bandit can be seen clambering through a window he had just smashed and then reaching out to retrieve his wheelchair. However the 44-year-old left trails of blood at the scene and is easily identifiable from the footage.

A volcano has burst into life in southwestern Japan's Mount Aso, spewing clouds of volcanic ash into the sky. The volcano on the main island of Kyushu, southwestern Japan, rumbled to life early on Saturday, belching a column of ash as far as 250 kilometres away. Images show cleaners setting to work mopping the blanket of ash from cars in a yard, as meteorologists warned of a heavy ash fall and falling rocks within 30 kilometres of the tourist attraction.

Fans of body art have flocked from all over the world to get inkings from some of the country's leading artists at the third annual two-day Israel Tattoo Convention in Tel Aviv. Among them is Magneto (bottom left and top right), from Berlin, whose entire face is covered in inkings, including his eyeballs.

Albania hosted its second royal wedding ever after King Leka II married longtime fiancee Elia Zaharia in a lavish ceremony on Saturday in the country's capital Tirana. The wedding had all the pomp and circumstance expected of a royal wedding with around 20 royal families from across the world in attendance including Prince Michael of Kent-the first cousin of Queen Elizabeth II.Princess Léa of Belgium and Queen Sofía of Spain were also present at the opulent in Albanian capital Tirana.

A 22-year-old lifeguard and star of Bondi Rescue has turned his love of the outdoors into a creative new job as a photographer. Anthony Glick, who was born in Johannesburg but moved to Sydney when he was nine, began taking pictures four years ago on his phone as he volunteered as a lifesaver, but decided to take it more seriously two years ago. And now he's sending prints of his work all over the world, with customers unable to get enough of his photos of stunning beachside sunsets, breathtaking ocean shots and pictures of the incredible Sydney skyline.
