Selina Waterman-Smith (pictured right and left) attempted to win the backing of Lord Sugar (inset) as one of the hopefuls on the hit reality TV show last year - but was 'fired' by the businessman after a turbulent few weeks. As the reality show returns, the 33-year-old has slammed producers claiming terrible conditions, bullying by another contestant and 'puppet-mastery' she says goes on behind the scenes. Ms Waterman-Smith, a businesswoman based in Dubai, branded the programme 'the worst and most manipulated of all reality shows', saying finalists are picked ahead of the first challenge and helped to success by editing which makes them look good. A spokeswoman for The Apprentice strongly refuted the claims made by Ms Waterman-Smith.
Ukip MEP WAS punched: Doctors say Steven Woolfe's injuries prove he 'was attacked and suffered more than just a seizure or a fall'
A medical assessment of Ukip leadership hopeful Steven Woolfe (in hospital, left) has revealed he was punched before a seizure caused him to fall and hit his head. Sources have told the MailOnline that an examination of the MEP shows bruising on his face consistent with a punch, with contusions on the back of his head suggesting it hit the floor following his fall (shown right). The revelation comes after fellow Ukip MEP Mike Hookem denied claims that he punched Mr Woolfe (pictured together, top inset) during an astonishing row. The punch-up row took a bizarre turn yesterday, when Mike Hookem released a photograph of his hands (bottom inset) to 'prove' that he did not hit his fellow MEP.

Rape victim wiped her own blood on her teen attacker and begged him to stop as he threatened to stab her to death
Jack Walker, 18, was jailed for 11 years after brutally attacking and raping a 58-year-old woman as she walked her dog in Cumbria. She wiped her own blood on him to get him to stop. Sentencing him, the judge at Carlisle Crown Court said it was a savage attack and ordered him to serve at least two-thirds of an 11 year sentence before he is released on license. Walker is said to regret his actions, which put the woman in hospital. Pictured, the woman's injuries, and Walker, inset.
Ex-council leader, 51, who is friends with Theresa May and David Cameron dumps his wife of 17 years for his engaged 31-year-old aide
David Burbage, 51, former council leader of Prime Minister Theresa May's constituency in Maidenhead, has left his wife, inset, for a woman 20 years youngers than him, who worked for him. Michaela Rizou, 31 from Greece, pictured left, has herself called off her wedding in Corfu taking her female friends on holiday there instead of having her destination ceremony. She worked for Cllr Burbage, pictured left with Theresa May, in the cabinet policy office in Maidenhead Council.
People think I'm mad! Britain's most prolific surrogate mother defies doctors as she prepares for her SIXTEENTH child - just days before she turns 50
Carole Horlock (main image), from Colchester in Essex, was told by medical experts that she was at high risk of complications and that she needed to stop for the sake of her health, after losing the last child she attempted to have. However, she has now done a u-turn and travelled to Greece to have two embryos implanted in her because she was not allowed to have the procedures in Britain. Pictured are babies number four (top left), five (top right), seven (bottom right) and eight (bottom left).

This week Central London County Court ruled in favour of Elaine Ames (pictured left), whose late husband Michael (bottom right) left his daughter Danielle (top right) with nothing. But she said: 'There is no victory here.' Not only did Danielle not receive a penny of her father's will, she was also ordered to pay her stepmother's £87,000 legal costs. In her first interview since the ruling, Elaine says it brings her little joy. 'The judge did the right thing,' she says, 'but there is no victory here. I just feel so sorry for Michael and what his daughter's done to his name. Calling him a philanderer and things was terrible. Awful.'
Airline refuses to refund family's flight tickets for dream trip to Florida after son, 3, is diagnosed with cancer because it's 'not an exceptional circumstance'
Oscar Long, from Bury in Lancashire, was diagnosed with leukaemia at the start of July but his family had booked the trip to the U.S two weeks earlier sparking the refund row. American Airlines refused to postpone or refund the flight because, the family say, it was not in their policy to do so. Doctors at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital said Oscar, three, would not be well enough to fly for at least three years.
Mother's fury as cabbie who left four-year-old girl brain damaged and paralysed after crashing into family car is granted taxi licence just two years later
Jessica Bootes (pictured with mother Lisa, left) was just four when she was left paralysed down her right side and had to have part of her skull removed after cabbie Amir Azad (shown right) ploughed into the family car while it waited at traffic lights. Shockingly, Azad is working as a taxi driver again just two years later and Jessica's parents, Lisa and Chris, of South Shields, South Tyneside, have started a petition in a bid to get him struck off. Jessica, now aged 7, spent 11 days in a coma (inset) after the crash and continues to live with serious learning difficulties, headaches and without the use of her right arm.
King Con: How a brickie on benefits conned his way from a derelict cottage to a stately home - fleecing his own mother on the way
Lounging in the back of a limousine as it cruises the streets of New York, Bill and Ann Green cannot stifle their smug smirks as they enjoy the high life. And in the 15 years since the photograph (inset) of that scene was taken, the glitz of their lifestyle has never suffered, certified by a host of lavish homes - from a stud farm in Newmarket with thoroughbred horses, to a hall set in 113 acres of land, once billed as Scotland's most expensive private home and, most recently, the Grade II-listed property that former prime minister Anthony Eden once called home (pictured). Not bad going for a bricklayer from the Isle of Wight whose first rung on the property ladder was a £13,000 derelict cottage (top left). But Green would settle for even that now -because, when he wakes up this morning, he'll be in a prison cell. Last week, the 60-year-old was jailed for six years for fraud, finally bringing to an end a scam worthy of a Hollywood film script. (Picture from top left, his first property, the derelict cottage in the Isle of Wight he bought in 1985, family home with first wife on same Island in 1991, in 2001 he left his previous life for Chale House, in 2002 the couple lease a £240,00-a-year property in Newmarket, before changing their name for £2.2million Middleton Hall, near Edinburgh in 2004. Pictured bottom row from left, the couple buy Heritage Valley Farms in Albama, America, he then makes an offer in 2010 on Great Brampton House in Hertfordshire, before actually purchasing Windlestone Hall in Durham in 2011 and then looking at Atyon Castle in Scotland in 2013 before getting caught.)

Tree murderers! Residents' fury as police order council to chop one down to stop youths throwing apples at cars
Youths started picking apples from the tree (circled, left) in a park in Wallasey, Merseyside, and hurled them at cars and passers-by. Police decided not to wait for the fruit season to pass and ordered the council to chop the tree down (pictured after, right). The decision has angered residents who have accused the authorities of over-reacting to the problem. One resident went so far to suggest the tree had been 'murdered' by authorities.

THE WORLD AT A GLANCE
EXCLUSIVE: 'I had to hold her again': Syrian baby girl pulled ALIVE from the rubble is reunited with the tearful hero who touched the hearts of millions
Abu Kifah, beamed with happiness and pride after travelling for hours through the dusty Syrian landscape to a patch of farmland Wahida Ma'artouk's family now calls home (left, the rescuer and toddler together). Footage (right) of Kifah pulling the then-30-day-old baby from the wreckage of her bombed home went around the world and reduced a veteran BBC presenter to tears. 'I carried her in my arms again and the night of the rescue came back to me,' Kifah told MailOnline after their reunion. But it was not without sorrow. Since their home was reduced to rubble, allegedly by Russian or Syrian warplanes, Wahida's parents were forced to move the baby girl (inset, in Idlib) and her brother Zakaria to a rough patch of farmland where they survive on even less than before.

Mystery of Flight 455: Forty years on questions remain about whether the CIA was behind the bombing of a Cuban passenger jet in which 73 people died
Forty years ago today a Cuban passenger jet trundled down the runway at Grantley Adams International Airport in Barbados and took off, climbing into a blue Caribbean sky en route to Jamaica. Two bombs exploded 11 minutes later and all 73 people on the plane were killed. A memorial stands by the sea (pictured, left) overlooking the spot where Flight 455 came down. The DC-8 (similar to the one pictured, top right) was owned by Fidel Castro's regime and 47 of those on board were from Cuba. Cubans divers (bottom right) were sent down to look for the wreckage. But years later questions remain about whether the CIA was involved and there are hopes the thaw in US/Cuban relations will lead to the mystery finally being solved.
