Pete Evans
Born in Melbourne, raised on the Gold Coast and currently resides in Sydney â?? certified true blue Aussie.
Passions include fresh food, surfing, fishing â?? and cooking and living with a fantastically feel-good healthy focus.
Restaurants have been a part of Peteâ??s life since the age of 19. He has opened seven in his time as a chef and restaurateur, including The Pantry, Hugoâ??s Manly and, his latest success, a contemporary tapas bar in Melbourneâ??s CBD, the unique Bar Nacional.
High-profile catering is another proud passion â?? from a royal banquet for the Prince and Princess of Denmark to a private dinner for Martha Stewart or a gala Gâ??Day USA dinner for 600 in New York City, Pete loves making any event super special.
Cooking, food and lifestyle TV programs have been another of Peteâ??s highly successful pursuits. Starting out in 2001 as a co-presenter on the Lifestyle Channelâ??s Home show, his credits also include Postcards from Home, FISH, and co-host with Manu Feildel since 2009 of Channel 7â??s hugely and internationally successful My Kitchen Rules. Peteâ??s latest TV series, Moveable Feast, showcases Americaâ??s finest artisans, producers and chefs and is currently screening in the US.
Cookbooks? Of course! Pete has publishedâ?¨ seven of them, all internationally successful, and thereâ??s an eighth on the way.
Speaking about healthy eating and wellness is another passion of Peteâ??s. One of Australiaâ??s leading authorities on healthy cooking and lifestyle, he loves to share his knowledge and educate and motivate parents, children and corporate audiences. And they love him!
Supporting organisations in synch with his own values is another of Peteâ??s passions. He is involved with Regenesis Youth (a new organisation dedicated to empowering disengaged teenagers) and the Mindd Foundation (using integrative healthcare, including food as medicine, in the treatment of metabolic, immunologic, neurologic, digestive and developmental conditions that often affect the mind). Pete is also an ambassador of the Australian Organic Schools garden project.
