Fighter's purse! Mickey Rourke takes his new favourite Louis Vuitton handbag to dinner at Catch LA

As a former fighter, he's used to getting his hands on nice purses.

But Mickey Rourke has been taking it to a new level with his fancy Louis Vuitton handbag.

The 64-year-old looked pretty dapper as he checked out new celeb hot spot Catch LA on Friday night.

The Wrestler star wore dark brown boots with dark jeans, held up by a handcuff-buckle belt.

He flashed plenty of his muscular chest with in a half-open black buttondown shirt, which he wore beneath a dark checkered waistcoat.

Fancy flourishes came in the form of a navy knotted scarf, a pair of cat-eye shades, and, of course, the designer manbag.

Mickey apparently has a strict policy on what he keeps in there, as his pack of Marlboro cigarettes didn't make the cut.

Instead they peeked out of his waistcoat pocket, a relic of a bygone era of Hollywood when no cowboy worth his salt would be seen without one.

In Fact, Rourke once starred in a film called Harley Davidson And The Marlboro Man, although he played the former while it was Don Jonson who played the latter.

And it's not just fancy dinner dates the Oscar nominee brings his French luxury accessory to.

Earlier this week he was spotted bringing the purse to the gym, in place of the usual gym bag.

The reason most people perhaps didn't notice was because of the rest of Mickey's outfit, which included an extremely tight pair of shorts.

Mickey appeared in four films last year but hasn't starred in any this year - nor is he due to - making it only the second year in his entire career he's taken off.

Despite his much publicised break from acting to pursue a boxing career in 1991, 2007 was actually the only other year the actor didn't appear in a movie since his very first role in 1979, in Steven Spielberg's film 1941.
