'Do you have any formal position on Syria, ISIS or global poverty?' Tic Tac USA is lampooned on Twitter after condemning Trump's lewd comments in 'grab them by the p***y' video

  • Brand on Saturday bashed Donald Trump's lewd comments in a tweet
  • Video published Friday revealed GOP nominee's disparaging remarks
  • Was recording saying one could 'do anything' to women if they were a star
  • After spotting actress Arianne Zucker, Trump said: 'I've got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her'

Tic Tac USA disavowed Donald Trump in a tweet Saturday - and earned quite a few amused responses.

Trump referenced the brand in a lewd video published Friday, in which he was caught on a hot mic making disparaging comments about women.

The Republican nominee talked about how it was possible for stars to 'do anything' to women, including grabbing them 'by the p***y'.

Trump was talking with Billy Bush on his way to the set of Days Of Our Lives to film a cameo in 2005.

He spotted Arianne Zucker, the actress who was going to escort him on set, and said: 'I've got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her.

'You know I'm automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It's like a magnet. Just kiss. I don't even wait.'

Tic Tac USA responded in a tweet on Saturday afternoon.

'Tic Tac respects all women. We find the recent statements and behavior completely inappropriate and unacceptable,' the brand wrote.

MailOnline's Piers Morgan responded in a tweet: 'Hi guys @TicTacUSA - do you have any formal position on Syria, ISIS or global poverty?'

Reporter Betsy Woodruff wrote: 'At long last, @TicTacUSA breaks its silence.'

Another user named Joel Fine told the brand: 'I've been waiting for them to make a state-mint.'

Political blogger Charles Johnson said: You know you’re in big trouble when @TicTacUSA denounces you.'

In the video, Trump also recalled trying - and failing - to seduce a married woman, who was later revealed to be television host Nancy O'Dell.

'I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn't get there. And she was married,' Trump said in the video published by the Washington Post.

'Then all of a sudden I see her, she's now got the big phony tits and everything. She's totally changed her look.'

Tic Tac's response gathered quite a few amused responses on Saturday. MailOnline's Piers Morgan asked the brand if it had opinions regarding Syria, ISIS or global poverty

Trump then talked about kissing women without waiting when he was attracting to them.

'And when you're a star, they let you do it,' he added. 'You can do anything.'

'Grab them by the p---y. You can do anything.'

Melania Trump herself condemned Trump's comments on Saturday afternoon.

She and the Republican nominee had been married for several months when the video was recorded.

'The words my husband used are unacceptable and offensive to me. This does not represent the man that I know,' she said in a statement.

'He has the heart and mind of a leader. I hope people will accept his apology, as I have, and focus on the important issues facing out nation and the world.'

Several senators and congressmen withdrew their support to Trump after his comments were made public.

Speaker of the house Paul Ryan said he was 'sickened' by Trump's remarks and declined to have the GOP nominee campaign with him in Wisconsin on Saturday night.

Trump's own running mate, Mike Pence, disavowed Trump's remarks in a statement and referred to the second presidential debate, which will be on Sunday.

'As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the eleven-year-old video released yesterday,' Pence said.

'I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them. I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people.

'We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when the goes before the nation tomorrow night.'

Trump meanwhile has pledged not to drop out of the race, even though at least 12 Republican senators, governors and representatives have called for him to give up.
