A drink driver who headed up an anti-drinking campaign has lost his licence for drink driving.

Matthew Hall had two cans of beer after finishing work before getting behind the wheel.

But he was pulled over by two colleagues in Epson, Surrey, and was found to be over the limit.

A video grab from footage broadcast by the UK Parliament's Parliamentary Recording Unit (PRU) shows British Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union (Brexit Minister) David Davis speaks in the House of Commons in London on October 10, 2016. EU leaders have said Britain must accept free movement of people if it wants access to the single market and have warned the negotiations will be tough. / AFP PHOTO / PRU AND AFP PHOTO / HO / RESTRICTED TO EDITORIAL USE - MANDATORY CREDIT " AFP PHOTO / PRU " - NO MARKETING NO ADVERTISING CAMPAIGNS - NO RESALE - NO DISTRIBUTION TO THIRD PARTIES - 24 HOURS USE - NO ARCHIVES HO/AFP/Getty ImagesIs there going to be another Brexit vote? Prosecutor Gaynor Byng told Crawley Magistrates’ Court: ‘He was spotted driving his Vauxhall Zafira and was pulled over by police.

‘He cooperated with them as they carried out a roadside breath test which came back as a fail.

‘He was taken into custody where the reading was given as 45mg per 100ml.

‘He was charged without interview and he appears before you as a man of good character and no previous convictions.’

In mitigation, Carlton Cabral said Hall had made a ‘huge error’, and as a serving police officer accepted that he ‘should have known better’.

He said: ‘He must be given credit for his early guilty plea and he did cooperate fully with police.

‘This is a life-changing experience for him and accepts he made a huge error. He is under immense pressure at work.

‘He came home from work and had a can of beer. He took his dog for a walk and while in the park he had another can of beer.’

Hall was given a 12-month driving ban, was ordered to pay £619, and is now facing disciplinary action with his police force.
