Now You See Her

Not exactly well known for their drama output - Is Harry On The Boat? - this is an OK thriller from Sky about a female con artist whose past starts to catch up with her.

Sadly, it all falls down with the central character. We are supposed to accept footballer's-wife-type Amanda Holden as a Linda Fiorentino-style femme fatale. Oh, but with a soft centre, of course, because these kinds of bums-on-seats productions can't conceive a genuine anti-heroine.

Naturally, she has a gay sidekick (Absolom from EastEnders) and is (potentially, anyway) saved by multiracial love. Very PC (as in Patronisingly Correct).

The plot revolves around the stealing of Damien Hirst's shark from a Manchester art gallery, although its commentary on modern art suggests that it's not exactly aimed at Brian Sewell's readership ('That's why it's conceptual, innit?').
