Boardroom fat-cat pay leaps 23%
EXECUTIVES have enjoyed average wage rises of 23% in the last year, despite the outcry over 'fat-cat' pay, a survey has revealed.
Average earnings of chief executives in the UK were £408,000, well above those in France (£317,000), Germany (£278,000) and Sweden (£253,000).
The survey appears in Management Today magazine. 'War in Iraq and economic downturn have affected many aspects of business, except, it seems, the pay packets at the top,' said editor Matthew Gwyther.
