Departed: Barbara Gibb, mother of the Gibb brothers whose music with the Bee Gees and solo projects sold tens of millions of records, has died aged 95
In 1944, Barbara married Hugh Gibb, a bandleader for the Hughie Gibb Orchestra in Manchester. She sang with the band.
The couple went on to have five children together; Barry, twins Robin and Maurice, Andy and daughter Lesley.
The couple managed the early career of the Bee Gees as their sons went on to find worldwide fame.
Hugh, and sons Robin, Maurice and Andy, all passed away before Barbara did.
Andy died in 1988, just five days after his 30th birthday. Years of drug and alcohol abuse had taken their toll and he died of natural causes after suffering from myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart muscle, which had been caused by a recent viral infection.

Hugh died of internal bleeding in 1992 at the age of 76 and Barry, 69, previously said: 'I believe all this was meant to happen, I miss my father of course, but he stopped living when Andy died and I'm sure he's happier now.'
In January 2003, Maurice died of a cardiac arrest at the age of 53 and nine years later in May 2012, their sibling Robin, 62, passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Billboard reports that the funeral will be private, but donations in Barbara's name can be made to the Diabetes Research Institute Foundation: 200 South Park Road, Suite 200, Hollywood, Florida 33021.
