Nicole Richie knows how to get stuff done.

The 35-year-old socialite on Saturday was snapped in the celeb hive of Calabasas as she walked her son Sparrow, 7, to his soccer game, while holding the leash of her giant black dog.

The Candidly Nicole beauty was dressed down for the outing, clad in a white hat with a black band, a blue button-up shirt and black leggings, with black Nike trainers. She kept a portable fold-up chair on her shoulder.

The gorgeous mother-of-two recently celebrated a huge milestone - her 35th birthday - with a disco-themed bash at The Standard Hollywood on September 23. There, she welcomed a number of her famous pals, including designer Rachel Zoe and actresses Jessica Alba, Kate Hudson and Cameron Diaz, who's related to Nicole by marriage.

The Empire beauty, who also has a daughter named Harlow with her husband Joel Madden, continues to thrive as a mom and businesswoman, consistently showing maturing and responsibility far removed from her fast-living persona of 10 years ago.

The daughter of music royalty Lionel Richie made headlines when she was infamously busted for a DUI December 11, 2006 while under the influence of both marijuana and the painkiller Vicodin, one in a string of celebrity bad girl busts in the time-frame that also saw her then-peers Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan wind up in police custody for comparable missteps.

Nicole - who shot to fame on The Simple Life with pal Paris - has already been advising her younger sister Sophia, as the 18-year-old model looks to be on the fast track to fame with her romantic link to pop star Justin Bieber.

Sofia in March told Evening Standard that the House of Harlow 1960 designer has stressed to her the pratfalls of peer pressure.

She said that Nicole has told her, 'Don't let people pressure you to do what they think is cool, like taking drugs,' and to 'be true to yourself.'

In the chat, Sofia shared warm memories of her older sister, who she described as 'crazy and fun,' adding, 'She would take me to places I wasn't supposed to go to, like fairs and she would let me have foods that I wasn't allowed to eat, like cotton candy.'
