GIRL ABOUT TOWN: Fit for a King! The Duchess of Cambridge lets her stylist loose on 'estate agent' William

His wife may rightly be lauded for her elegant outfits but Prince William’s own fashion choices have been so drab, one style magazine cruelly accused him of dressing like an estate agent.

So now Kate has ordered her stylist Natasha Archer to give William a much-needed wardrobe makeover – and she has started by throwing out his ubiquitous brown loafers and his tatty trainers.

William’s cords and chinos have also been bagged up ready for the charity shop, replaced by tighter- fitting tapered trousers that show off a bit of ankle and which are worn with a pair of desert boots from L.K. Bennett.

For the tour of Canada, the 29-year-old stylist – known to friends as Tash – added linen jackets, and sweaters from J Crew, Jaeger and Reiss, her favourite high street label.

Sources tell me the makeover process was done tactfully, with Tash assuring the Prince, 34, that she was merely helping him to ‘edit’ and ‘freshen’ his wardrobe.

For more formal occasions, William will now been seen in suits by Savile Row tailor Gieves & Hawkes, and never double-breasted – a style favoured by his father, the Prince of Wales.

Tash has become a close friend of the Duchess following her appointment in 2014.

She was also responsible for the show-stopping outfits that Kate wore in Canada.

Kate will no doubt be thrilled that William’s ultimate style crime – white Asics trainers that he has worn for the best part of a decade – are finally out.

As a source says: ‘You won’t be seeing him in those again any time soon.’

Meanwhile, William’s brother Harry is also working hard to transform his image thanks to regular weight-lifting sessions at a Chelsea gym.

Harry, 32, is concerned he is ‘too lanky’, so has asked trainers to devise a muscle-building programme for him.
