Benni McCarthy must score more to stay at Blackburn, says Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce has told Benni McCarthy that he can still save his Blackburn Rovers career by scoring the goals to keep them up.

Wigan, Portsmouth and Birmingham are all interested in South Africa striker McCarthy and he is keen to hold talks about his future, having made just four league starts this season with the World Cup looming.

Allardyce said: 'All Benni has to do is play like we all know he can and score me some goals. That way he will stay in the team. If that's the case, there's no need for him to go anywhere else, unless somebody comes in with a massive offer.'
