BBC presenter under fire from viewers for wearing a rather low-cut dress for Hugh Grant interview

She always manages to greet the nation in the morning looking glamorous and smart.

But Susanna Reid, 39, came in for some rather stern criticism from viewers who accused her of showing a little too much cleavage during a recent interview with actor Hugh Grant.

The BBC Breakfast presenter spoke to the actor about his upcoming film Did You Hear About The Morgans? for a segment on the early morning show.

BBC Breakfast presenter Susanna Reid interviews Hugh Grant as he talks about his new film. But she was criticised for showing too much cleavage and being flirtatious

For the informal chat over coffee and croissants, she wore a long-sleeved brown top with a square-neckline that only showed the top of her cleavage.

But even that was too much for some viewers, who made their indignation towards her attire perfectly clear on the channel's Points Of View message board on the website.

Susanna though, was unfazed by the criticism, which also said she tossed her hair back 'flirtatiously' and she behaved 'like a 14-year-old schoolgirl on her first date.'

Modest: Susanna leans back to talk only showing the very top part of her cleavage

She said: 'I'm always sorry when people don't like what we do, but I have come to accept that you can't please all the people all of the time.

'However, after breastfeeding three children, I'm amazed that people think I still have a cleavage worth complaining about.'

Oscar beauty: Susanna was praised for shunning designer dresses to wear a £50 gown from Oxfam to cover the Academy Awards

Croydon-born Reid has been presenting BBC Breakfast since 2004 alongside Charlie Stayt, who took over from Bill Turnbull, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

She lives in south London and has three young sons with long time partner, BBC News sports correspondent Dominic Cotton.

Despite being slammed for showing her cleavage during the interview with Hugh Grant, she has an army of fans who think she is the sexiest presenter on the BBC and regularly post up videos of her wearing short skirts or unintentionally flashing her bra through her blouse on air.

In February 2009, she was praised for spurning offers to wear dresses worth thousands of pounds to report from the Academy Awards and instead presented the Oscars from Hollywood in a vintage black floor-length dress she bought from Oxfam for £50.

Earlier that month, she hit the headlines when she was forced to apologise on air after BBC Breakfast broadcast an unedited clip of actor Christian Bale swearing during an on-set rant.

The clip, that went out live at 6.55am, was taken from his angry outburst on the set of Terminator: Salvation when he shouted at the film's director of photography, Shane Hurlbut, after Bale was distracted halfway through a scene.

The Dark Knight actor was heard saying, 'You don't f****** understand what it's like...', before it was quickly cut and taken off air.

Reid, who was heard to gasp loudly after it was played, said: 'Oh, an enormous apology. That was definitely supposed to have been edited. We are extremely apologetic.'
