Florent Malouda ruled out of Chelsea's Champions League clash against Spartak Moscow with ankle injury
Crocked: Chelsea winger Florent Malouda was injured during the win at Blackburn last weekend
Chelsea will be without France winger Florent Malouda for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Spartak Moscow at Stamford Bridge.
Malouda collected an ankle injury in the win over Blackburn and will miss out along with England midfielder Frank Lampard (groin) and Jose Bosingwa (illness).
Yossi Benayoun remains a long-term absentee with an Achilles problem but Brazilian midfielder Ramires is fit again after an ankle injury.
Spartak are expected to welcome back their star man, Brazilian playmaker Alex, who has been training after recovering from the thigh injury which kept him out of the match against Chelsea a fortnight ago.
Chelsea team to face Spartak Moscow (from):
Cech, Turnbull, Hilario, Ivanovic, Terry, Cole, Alex, Ferreira, Obi, Essien, Ramires, Zhirkov, Drogba, Anelka, Kalou, Kakuta, McEachran, Van Aanholt, Bruma, Sturridge, Borini.
Ari, who played instead of Alex at the Luzhniki Stadium, has not travelled because of a hamstring strain. Austria defender Martin Stranzl is also injured.
Former Celtic winger Aiden McGeady insisted all the pressure was on the hosts, but says Spartak will go on the attack.
'Chelsea are expected to win every game they play, so for us it doesn't make a difference,' said the Republic of Ireland winger. 'You want to win every game, but if not then a draw would be great.'
