Looks before the law? Gordon Ramsay fails to display the number plate on his Ferrari

His company may be suffering devastating financial woes, but that hasn't stopped Gordon Ramsay splashing out on his sixth Ferrari.

The TV chef proudly took his expensive sports car out to visit a photography store on the King's Road in Chelsea with wife Tana yesterday.

But eagle-eyed onlookers spotted that Ramsay has seemingly put looks before the law and failed to display his front number plate.

The 44-year-old flouted the UK requirement to have both front and back number plates displayed on the luxury vehicle, which is understood to have taken delivery of last month.

Ramsay splashed out on the Ferrari in the middle of the fallout from his firing father in law Chris Hutcheson, and other family members, from Gordon Ramsay Holdings.

The troubled company is embroiled in a legal battle with Hutcheson and struggling with growing debts.

It emerged this week that Ramsay is facing yet another lawsuit from New Zealand company Duco Ltd.

The promoter is suing the celebrity chef for NZ$2.1 million (£1.02 million) after he pulled out of a speaking tour in June.

The New Zealand Herald reports that Chris Hutcheson (then still employed by the company) cancelled the two-day engagement via email a week before they were due to take place on June 22-23.

The reason given was that Ramsay's mother Helen had suffered a heart attack and he needed to remain in the UK to be near her.

However the New Zealand company argues that Helen had been disharged from the hospital on June 14 and that there was 'no evidence she had suffered a heart attack.'

A rescheduled tour in October was also cancelled, the company claims.
