Robbie Williams finally ditches his favourite holey jumper for a smart night out with wife Ayda

Over the last few months, Robbie Williams has practically been living in his favourite stripey jumper, complete with holes and rips.

But fortunately the singer ditched the messy knitwear last night as he smartened up to attend his favourite designer's party.

The 36-year-old wore a black suit and matching shirt as he cosied up to his actress wife Ayda Field, 31, at Selfridges last night.

Tailor Nick Hart invited Robbie and a few other celebrity friends to attend the launch of his new Spencer Hart concession in the department store in London's Oxford Street.

Also in attendance was Robbie's old friends Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 35, and retired rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio, 38.

Robbie has been a key figure in Spencer Hart's success in the fashion world.

Just seven months after Hart launched his first Spencer Hart (named after his son) shop in Savile Row in March 2002, Robbie invited him to create his wardrobe for a TV special, striking up an ongoing partnership.

Two years later Hart opened a shop in the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York, and Liberty of London in 2009.

Robbie once told GQ magazine: 'From the day I met Nick, I have worn little else but Spencer Hart on a smart day.

'I still can't pull off the slimline look with quite as much ease as him, but I am working on it. You can spot his style a mile off, and I love it.'

Other celebrity fans include David Bowie, Duran Duran, Jay-Z, Jamie Foxx and Kanye West.

Meanwhile, Robbie is preparing to release his second single since his reunion with Take That - Kidz.

The group are expected to perform at the Brit Awards on Tuesday, where they are also up for Best British Album for Progress.

However, bandmate Gary Barlow recently suggested Robbie rejoining the band was only temporary.

He said: 'I think even moving forward, I know we’re back with Rob right now, but we still see our future as a four-piece band.

'We see Take That as a four-piece band in general.

'When we came back in 2005 we had the conversation, "Can we do this as four?" Thanks to the fans who bought the records, we proved we can.'

Robbie rejoined Take That last summer 15 years after he walked out on the group at the peak of their Nineties fame.
