Pregnant Kimberley Walsh spends quality time with cute son Bobby... after hinting that BFF Cheryl would make 'a brilliant mum'

Her best friend Cheryl is headed for motherhood, according to the latest rumours.

But Kimberley Walsh was focusing on her own adorable family on Friday, as she spent quality time with her son Bobby.

The former Girls Aloud singer, who is expecting her second child with husband Justin Scott, displayed her maternal instincts as she cuddled the two-year-old in close.

Through a thick knit jumper, Kimberley was hinting at her baby bump and her gorgeous pregnancy curves.

For a relaxed image, the singer layered her winter jumper over a maxi skirt and kept comfortable in trainers. 

She went for minimal make-up on her daytime run, pulling her hair back neatly into a low ponytail.

Her adorable little one, who's soon to take on the responsibility of becoming a big brother, was dressed in jogging bottoms and fashion-forward red trainers.

As rumours swirl that her best friend Cheryl is also expecting a baby, comments made earlier this year by Kimberley emerged.

Prevbiously alking to theSunday People the Girls Aloud star, 34, said that the Fight For This Love singer is a natural with children, and will make a caring mother when she decides to have her own.

She said: 'She's really happy right now. And she'll be a brilliant mum. She has loads of nieces and nephews, so she's used to the madness of children.'

Before adding: 'Both she and Nicola [Roberts] are naturally good with kids.'

The singer added that Cheryl and former band mate Nicola, 31, often show off their broody sides by making regular visits to Kimberley's home to play with her sweet toddler Bobby, two. 

It comes after a flurry of rumours that Cheryl and boyfriend Liam Payne are expecting their first child.

Pop star Kimberley claimed her best friend is happier than ever, since embarking on a new relationship with One Direction heartthrob Liam earlier this year.

It also follows Cheryl's painful split to second husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, as well as her separation from cheating first husband Ashley Cole.

A representative for Cheryl has been contacted for comment on the pregnancy speculation - but MailOnline is yet to receive any response.

Meanwhile, Kimberley recently took time to reflect on her own experience of motherhood.

She told FEMAIL this month: 'Motherhood is a lot harder than I realised. There's no off switch 24/7 and it changes your life but I am ready for it. Life will never be the same again - but in a good way, of course.' 

'It sounds cliche but they become your sole priority and it softens you and brings our your emotional side,' she said. 

On her second pregnancy, Kimberley continued:'I am so tired a lot of the time, it can be tough to get that balance but I know I am in a privileged position where I've been able to work things around Bobby.'
