The ultimate Christmas gift? An £155,000 watch safe - with a TV, bar, fake fire and cigar humidor

  • Six feet tall and five feed wide
  • Offers 60 illuminated, computer-controlled watch winders
  • Smartphone controlled TV and stereo
  • Bar section and air-conditioned humidor

Still puzzling over what to buy that ultra-rich oil magnate this year? Every rich person worth their salt needs a watch-winder safe - both to keep their collection of terrifyingly expensive timepieces safe, and to ensure that they're always wound up whenever they want to switch watch.

But the Doettling Gigantis should be enough to turn even rival oligarchs green with envy. Not only is the safe six feet tall and five wide, with room for 60 computer-controlled watch winders, it also has a television, stereo system, bar compartment, a fake fire, and a cigar humidor.

It is, its makers Kudoe, Schli and Matz say modestly, 'An eye catcher in any room.'

The smartphone-controlled safe stores watches in two motorised 'wings' which purr out on command.

The bar section is fully illuminated, and the humidor is air-conditioned.

The makers - working in collaboration with the safe experts Doettling - also offer fully bespoke versions in materials such as wood, leather or carbon.

And in case anyone's in any doubt that the thing exists, Doetlling has posted a gallery of photos online with the title 'Proof of reality' - which show a suitably slab-like safe, surrounded by cameras.

As well as an LCD screen (top) used to control all the watch winders, the Doettling also boasts lower screens - either used as televisions, controls for its built-in stereo system, or a tasteful fake aquarium and fire

Luxury website Bornrich said, 'What strikes us the most is, the unique modern yet classy appeal of the device. The mauve brown outer covering with the black central unit oozes a feeling of modern design, without making any loud statement.'

What strikes others, may, of course, be the price. The Gigantis reportedly retails at $240,000 - and depending on your choice of customisation options, that could even go up.Your watch collection had better be worth it.
