Essex women have long been known as being fans of fake tan, but Billi Mucklow and Cara Kilbey have taken things one step further.

The Only Way Is Essex stars looked like they'd been tangoed in a recent photo shoot, but it was all just for a laugh as they poked fun at the tradition.

The Essex pair were giving an exclusive interview to Heat magazine when they covered themselves in the beauty must-have.

Wearing just bikinis, the best friends are seen posing for the camera beside a tanning booth as they mock the opinion that Essex ladies always look orange.

Cara is seen clutching a spray gun as Billi holds out her tangoed hands and has a shocked look on her face.

But perhaps Billi's stunned facial expression was due to the fact that she'd just revealed her own salary.

It may seem like a glamorous day job, but the stars of The Only Way Is Essex could probably earn more money elsewhere after the pair reveales that the cast only get paid £80 a day but admitted that it doesn't bother them.

'We’re not on the show for the money. It’s just life experience,' Billi stated after Cara let the cat out of the bag.

The pair told the magazine that they have known each other since school and have never actually had an argument.

In fact, the women are so close that they even went to the same surgeon to have their breasts enlarged.

'I went first,' Billi said, before Cara added: 'I’d broken up with my boyfriend. I’d always had small boobs and I thought, !I’m just going to do it," so the next week, to p*** him off, I just went and got new boobs.'

However, that's not the only cosmetic surgery that Billi and Cara have indulged in as they also admitted that they have both had Botox.

'I’ve had it since I was 22,' Billi revealed. 'They say the younger you are when you have Botox, the better it takes.

'My mum and dad are not against it at all. When I was 19 and had my boobs done, I took my dad. I was like, “Look! I need some!"'

The girls finished their interview by voicing their opinion about a certain TOWIE star who is no longer on the show, Mark Wright.

'I’ve known Mark since I was little and I don’t like him at all,' Billi said. 'I just don’t. I lived down the same street as him. I think he’s changed a lot.'
