If there were any hard feelings between Reese Witherspoon's former and current husbands, the pair appeared to bury the hatchet on Saturday.

They were seen shaking hands as they cheered on Reese and Ryan Phillippe's son Deacon at the youngster's soccer game.

Jim Toth was seen tentatively offering his hand to the actor, who gladly shook it.

The gesture appeared to thoroughly improve the previously stormy mood between Reese, Jim and Ryan at the match.

They are usually on good terms while supporting Deacon but Ryan and Reese had looked somewhat downcast as they took to the field to cheer on their only son in Brentwood, California.

At only one point did Reese manage to raise a smile as she stood on the sidelines.

Thankfully, once Ryan and Jim had made peace with one another Reese's spirits lifted and she beamed away while cuddling up to her husband and proudly watching Deacon.

The Walk The Line star tried to keep warm on the chilly day in a chic navy duffel coat worn over a plaid shirt.

She paired the look with some blue jeans tucked into tan ankle boots.

Meanwhile, her husband Jim dressed in a similar outfit to his wife also wearing a checked shirt, jeans, and a pair of tan boots.

The handsome talent agent finished the look off with a beige-coloured cardigan.

Ryan on the other hand went for more sporty attire with his black baggy trousers, a matching black T-shirt and windbreaker.

The Studio 54 star kept underwraps with a baseball cap and carried Deacon's soccer ball as they left the field.

Phillippe and Witherspoon separated after more than seven years of marriage in 2006 when Witherspoon filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences.

As well as Deacon, nine, the former couple have daughter Ava, 11 and share joined custody.

The Election actress married Toth, a talent agent, in March 2011.

The couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Tennessee, in September this year.

Reese was honoured by March of Dimes for being a model celebrity parent on Friday, and the actress acknowledged the honour in a statement on the organisation's website.

'I was very lucky to have a healthy delivery and leave the hospital with a healthy full term infant, but so many families in this country do not get that experience,' she wrote.

Speaking at the event she said: 'We are parents that know the joy of having a beautiful, brilliant, joyful, perfect baby.... Somehow heaven has opened up and delivered us an angel [who] looks adorable in every angle of an iPhone photo.'

The Oscar-winner received the organisation's Grace Kelly Award at its Celebration of Babies event Friday at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
