Brooke Burke-Charvet has revealed surgery to remove her thyroid cancer has been successful.

The 41-year-old Dancing With The Stars host said she had received the good news just seven days after undergoing a thyroidectomy.

Writing on her ModernMom.com blog, she said: 'I just got the results back from all of my tests and great news - the thyroid cancer has been removed from my body and all my lymph nodes are clear.

'So I'm hoping that this is the end of the story. Woohoo!!! And thank GOD!'

The mother-of-four also said her recovery following the December 6 procedure has been 'much better than I expected it would be.

'I've been home for the past week, watching a lot of TV, which I never do.

'I've almost made it through the entire season of Showtime's... Homeland. I can't remember the last time I lost myself in someone else's story.

'It's so out of the ordinary for me - to not be working or rushing from place to place driving the kids around. But I have to admit I could kinda get used to this.

'In a weird way, it's kind of the perfect ending to a very busy year. I've taken the rest of the year off to recover and catch up with my family and now we're just celebrating life.'

It was further good news after the fitness guru took to Twitter to reassure well-wishers that she alright, defiantly declaring 'F**k cancer'.

She added: 'I'm resting, recovering. Surgery went well. Dr Adashek is a genius. Thx Dr! Feels like I got hit my a car.'

The model - who is married to former Baywatch showpony David Charvet - also revealed her greatest fear had not been realised.

'Thank God it's over. I'm clean, surgery went well & I can talk. Losing My voice was my biggest fear. Thx for all your prayers & light.'

By the time she was home the pain had obviously eased, with the face of Sketchers telling cancer she was done with it.

Posting along side of a picture taken before her surgery where she is giving the middle finger to the camera the host said on Whosay:

'Made it through my surgery, Thank God! so far so good F#@k Cancer! I'm recovering, I'm strong, I'm grateful for my brilliant Doctors.'

In the lead up to her cancer surgery Brooke has been very open about her illness.

However the day before her operation, she admitted it has been a very scary time and talking about it has made it both better and worse.

'Ever since I broke the news, I have had to talk about cancer every day to every friendly person that I run into, which has been a constant reminder of the challenges that lie ahead,' she wrote on her blog on Modern Mom.

'On the flip side, so many people have shared their thyroid experiences with me, and their scars - which surprisingly look pretty darn good. I am hopeful for a successful procedure and I am planning on a speedy recovery.'

Thursday's news that the Dancing host was going to be okay was quickly welcomed by one of the show's pros Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

'Congrats @brookeburke on a successful surgery! Have a fast recovery! Love you!,' the dancer tweeted.

Fears: The host initially did not tell her children about her illness, however, when they found out each of them discovered different ways to cope

I had my thyroid removed 3 years ago after the birth of my daughter. It was benign, and my scar isn't noticeable.

I had exactly the same thing ... even though it's "cancer", it is almost always curable with very little invasiveness or post-surgical treatment. Two pills a day for the rest of my life. Big deal. To make such a big deal out of this bothers me ... there are people out there with other cancers that are not curable and don't get this much attention. Sorry, just venting. Am honestly happy that she's feeling better. _____________________________________________________________________________________________ I had invasive thyroid cancer. I had to have surgery and also had to have radioactive ablation and then wait SIX weeks OFF THYROID MEDS to have a full body scan to find out if all the cancer cells had been zapped. Going for six weeks off meds is HELL! How DARE you pipe off about what an easy time YOU had! Not all people are so fortunate yes you dummy, people CAN and DO die from thyroid cancer! I had a doctor tell me "poor prognosis". You are an IDIOT!!!!!
