Happy shopper! Gossip Girl actress Jessica Szohr looks pleased as punch as she leaves trendy boutique with several carrier bags

She is best known for her role in Gossip Girl, a show that was equal parts shopping and manipulative twenty-somethings.

And it seems like Jessica Szohr has taken at least one of those aspects firmly in to her real life.

The actress was seen carrying bags from hip LA shop Kitson, and judging by the wry smile on her face, she had picked up several bargains.

The actress was dressed casually in black jeans and flat leather boots, which seemed to have an animal skin texture.

She wore a denim shirt, unbuttoned, over a black vest, and carried a while hat, which she sometimes wore for a few strides, too.

While her hands were busy carrying the store's trademark baby blue bags, she had a leather bag with animal print panels and a studded strap over one shoulder.

Jessica looked relaxed and happy as she strolled to and from the shop in the mild Californian sunshine.

Her hair was unstyled, and hung loosely around her shoulders revealing slight red highlights.

Eagle-eyed fans would be scanning the images of the 27-year old actress for a glimpse of one or two of her eleven tattoos.

The actress, who has Hungarian and African-American heritage, has several inkings, including a cherub and her grandparents' wedding date.

She may have been shopping for a present to celebrate the end of Gossip Girl's sixth season, in which she appeared in the season finale.

Or perhaps it was for a last minute gift for her rumoured boyfriend, ex-Hollyoaks hunk Ricky Whittle.

Girl next door leaves a shop with some bags having bought some stuff. Is this the level of showbiz these days? McQueen, Newman, Redford, Hayworth, Monroe, Brando (etc etc etc) and today with have Kardasian, Lohan and some no marks from made up telly. Not much else needs saying really, we have a bird with carrier bags to read about who did some telly.
