She looks much younger than her 42 years and as Uma Thurman posed for pictures with her daughter Maya, it was hard to believe that the actress has a teenage child.

The Kill Bill actress took her 14-year-old daughter to Calvin Klein's Human Rights Party and the pair looked more like sisters, than mother and daughter.

Uma looked effortlessly elegant in a simply black dress with a high neckline.

Her daughter, whose father is Uma's ex-husband Ethan Hawke, complemented her mother in a contrasting white dress.

The teenager appears to have inherited Uma's height and her slender shape and she looked lovely in the long sleeved dress.

Uma teamed her timeless black dress with a pair of cut out wedges and she carried a tailored jacket as she arrived at the event in New York.

She kept all of her accessories black, and toted a leather clutch.

As well as Maya, Uma has two other children, son Levon, 10, whose father is also Ethan Hawke and another daughter Rosalind

Last year she gave birth to her youngest child, whose father is Arpad Busson, Uma's current husband.

Earlier in the day on Wednesday the Pulp Fiction star treated herself to a retail therapy session at Louis Vuitton.

But the stunning star looked frumpy in a pair of unusual khaki Capri pants and a navy turtleneck sweater.

It was a rare miss for the mother-of-three, whose chic style often lands her on best dressed lists.

Uma can next be seen in the controversial new Lars Von Trier film Nymphomaniac, which is scheduled to hit cinemas later this year.

I cannot believe people are being so critical of a CHILD's appearance. Maya is still growing and her face will change until she hits adulthood. Not that there is anything wrong with her face or any other part of her! I agree she looks more like her dad but you can definitely see Uma in her face too. Uma looks amazing here - seriously. All those people criticising her appearance, let's see what you all look like!

A cross between Uma and Ethan, she's so pretty and only 14, she's going to be gorgeous. I see the hype here, and not with kendall jenner or ireland baldwin.

The daughter looks more like her dad, thank goodness. Never understood the hype by some over Uma. She is NOT pretty at all, the nose is ghastly, and she is really looking a lot older. She is past her prime for sure.
