Anna Wintour on reality TV? New Vogue and CFDA series will follow ten designers as they compete for Fashion Fund
|
Anna Wintour, along with Diane von Furstenberg and J. Crew's Jenna Lyons are set to star in a new television documentary that will chronicle this years CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.
The six-part series, airing on Ovation TV in December, will follow ten finalists as they compete for the $300,000 cash prize and a year-long mentorship with an industry leader.
In ten years of Fashion Fund awards, the event has included the likes of Proenza Schouler, Alexander Wang, Rodarte and Joseph Altuzarra.

Last year's winner, Greg Chait, designer of the knitwear label the Elder Statesman, was up against jewelry designer Pamela Love, and Tabitha Simmons.
And this year’s finalists, who will feature on the documentary series, include Misha Nonoo (of the label Nonoo), Veronica Miele Beard and Veronica Swanson Beard (of Veronica Beard), Ryan Lobo and Ramon Martin (of Tome) and Juan Carlos Obando.
'This is the real deal,' said Robert Weiss, CEO of Ovation TV. 'There have been a lot of fashion competition series on television, but nothing comes close to matching the authenticity and talent found in The Fashion Fund.
'It's truly an honor to be working with the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund.'
Ovation is working with Condé Nast Entertainment on the project, which celebrates the tenth anniversary of the competition.
Each hour-long episode will take viewers behind-the-scenes - whether it is on studio visits, a Vogue photo shoot, or catwalk shows.
The final winner announcement - which will take place on November 11 - will also be covered.
The judging panel will include Ms Wintour, Ms Lyons, and CFDA chairman Ms von Furstenberg.
'The Fashion Fund will captivate audiences, documenting the rise of the next generation of designers as they gain immeasurable insight from the industry's foremost talent,' said Dawn Ostroff, president of Condé Nast Entertainment.
'Ovation is a perfect home for the series and we look forward to giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look.'
