He was once in the running to play 007, while she famously bedded Daniel Craig in Quantum of Solace.

Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton are now, however, working on an altogether different 'bond' in upcoming drama A Hundred Streets.

The duo play a former rugby player and his estranged wife in the movie from director Jim O’Hanlon, which focuses on four different stories being played out within a square mile of modern London.

As well as the struggling couple, the movie features Adam Bakri as a rich playboy with girlfriend troubles, while Franz Drameh portrays a small-time drug dealer who befriends an ageing actor.

In character, Idris and Gemma looked like any normal couple enjoying the sunshine as they shot scenes for the film in Battersea Park in London on Friday.

The 28-year-old looked the part of a chic yummy-mummy in a smart beige blazer, skinny jeans and pumps, while Luther star Idris went for the casual dad look in a green, long-sleeved polo shirt, dark denim and brown boots.

The pair were seen hitting the adventure playground with a young girl and boy, who are believed to play their kids in the film.

Another sequence included the stars sitting on a log in deep discussion.

It's not the first time the duo have worked together on the big screen - they both appeared in Guy Ritchie's 2008 gangster film RocknRolla.

Meanwhile, one man Gemma doesn't have to act with is her new French beau Franklin Ohanessian.

She has been spotted canoodling with the handsome director on several occasions since confirming their romance last month.

They joined the star-studded crowd at Wimbledon in June, when Gemma gave the dark-haired hunk a kiss on the cheek as they took to their courtside seats.

The new relationship is the actress' first since splitting from husband Stefano Catelli in February, 2013.

Speaking about the breakdown of the union, she told Marie Claire magazine last year: 'It was a wonderful time and I have nothing bad to say about it.

'Even if they don’t last relationships can enrich your life in some way and then you move on to the next part – it’s all part of the process of living.'
