I'm in love and growing old disgracefully, says Jerry: Former model admits she will not give up any of her vices

During her seventies heyday she was by her own admission loud, rowdy, enjoyed partying, jet-setting and was on the arm of Rolling Stone Mick Jagger.

Four decades on, Jerry Hall is now 58 and is refusing to grow old quietly: she has found love one more – this time with a distinguished evolutionary biologist nearly a decade her junior - and rather than worry about ageing she indulges in tanning, smoking, drinking and enjoying ‘all sorts of things I shouldn't do.’

Miss Hall, who appeared on the cover of magazines including Vogue and Cosmopolitan, revealed she has no intention of eliminating her wrinkles and lines using Botox.

During her youth she appeared to have a penchant for rock stars - aged 22 she left Roxy Music star Bryan Ferry, then 32, for Sir Mick, 35, who she later married.

Her 23-year relationship with Jagger finally came to an end when she discovered Brazilian model Luciana Morad was pregnant with his child.

These days Miss Hall prefers a man immersed in the world of science and academia.

She began dating Professor Armand Leroi at the beginning of this year, having been single since splitting with Australian multi-millionaire property magnate Warwick Hemsley, 60, in 2012. It is understood they met through their literary connections.

The New Zealand born geneticist, 50, based at London’s prestigious Imperial College, specialises in the science of beauty and ageing and has presented science documentaries for Channel 4 and the BBC.

Describing him as her boyfriend for the first time in an interview with Good Housekeeping magazine, Miss Hall said: ‘I don’t have a checklist – you meet someone and you get on. It is a miracle, I think, to meet someone you like.

‘I have a boyfriend – Armand – who I have been seeing since just after New Year. He is lovely and very clever and very handsome.

'I am really, really happy. I am very lucky – I feel really blessed in life.’

Miss Hall is currently promoting TK Maxx’s Give Up Clothes For Good campaign which raises money for Cancer Research and revealed she is happier now than she has been in the past and content to age naturally.

She said: ‘Everything is water off a duck’s back. It is something that happens with age – I am not bothered about anything. What will happen will happen.

‘I am very against [Botox]. I think it looks silly – people with mean-looking eyebrows!

‘I am 58. That is pretty old, for God’s sake. I look pretty good for my age, and I am enjoying that. But I smoke, I drink, I like wine, I love sun tanning, I drink coffee… I am doing all sorts of things I shouldn't do.’

In her autobiography, Miss Hall branded Jagger a ‘sexual predator’ and said that from the start of their relationship she doubted he could refrain from trysts with other women.

The couple had four children together and despite their divorce she said she remains ‘very, very friendly’ with the veteran rocker but admitted his famously complicated love life has made their relationship complex.

She said: ‘Of course it is challenging, because we used to be married and you have a divorce and then there are children from different moms… I’m sure anyone would agree that is a challenge!

'But we all love each other, and I get on great with all the moms.'
