Chloe Moretz completes ALS ice bucket challenge... then celebrates by doing a flip into the swimming pool

Chloe Moretz is the latest star to participate in the ice bucket challenge.

The 17-year-old raised awareness for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrgi's Disease, on Friday by sharing an Instagram video of herself dumping a large amount of freezing cold water on her head.

The Kick Ass actress was nominated for the dare by her If I Stay co-star Liana Liberato and soon after showed off another impressive feat as she did a front flip into a swimming pool.

Dressed in black printed T-shirt and body-hugging dark skinny jeans with her hair loosely curled, the young actress prepared herself for the freezing water. But not before she made her nominations for the next people to participate in the challenge.

'Thank you so much Liana Liberato for nominating me for the ALS challenge, I nominate Ed Sheeran, Ingrid Michaelson and Jamie Blackley,' said Chloe before she reached down to the blue bucket full of ice.

Immediately after throwing down the gauntlet, her long blonde tresses are clearly soaked in water and her entire body is noticeably dripping.

Brooklyn Beckham's rumoured new girlfriend posted another video following the charity venture.

With the caption, 'post ice bucket challenge...' Chloe, with a running start, impressively completed a front flip into a pool landing feet first.

Moretz joins many Hollywood A-listers who have taken part in the ALS challenge including Emmy Rossum, Elizabeth Banks and Justin Timberlake. Oprah, Kerry Washington and Matt Bomer were some of the stars who shared videos while participating on Friday.

Since July 29, the challenge has helped raise over $5 million for the Association.

The organisation helps sufferers of amyotrophic lateral sclerosisa, a neurodegenerative disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.

Those who reject the challenge must make a donation to the charity, with many choosing to do that as well as suffer the ice bucket.
