  • She gave birth to baby girl, Stella, in March; is caring for her behind bars
  • This week she was seen goofing around with the child on prison grounds
  • Pair were joined by two beaming women believed to be inmates at the jail

  • Comes just days after Mack was joyfully danced away in sunshine inside Bali's Kerobokan prison for Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations
  • Mother was wearing bright lipstick and eyeshadow, and had hair curled
  • She told MailOnline she wants to be out before her 10-year jail term is up
  • Her boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, was jailed for 18 years in shocking case

In one photo, she strikes a pose alongside two beaming women believed to be her fellow inmates.

In another, her five-month-old baby girl sits wide-eyed on her bed, with a bra on top of her head.

These images show Heather Mack - the 20-year-old American serving 10 years in a Balinese jail for the brutal murder of her mother - goofing around with her friends and daughter on prison grounds.

Mack, from Chicago, was allowed to strip off her jailhouse uniform and wear an embroidered white top and jeans for the photos, which show her to be in good spirits despite her lengthy prison term

In one of the snaps, the young mother is pictured smiling at the camera alongside a woman thought to be a prisoner and Mack's baby daughter, Stella, whom she gave birth to behind bars in March.

Stella - who will have to be given up by her jailed mother when she turns two, in accordance with Indonesian law - can also be seen grinning in the image, captured next to an outside prison wall.

She is donning a babygro printed with hearts - and a red and blue dress in the bedroom picture.

It comes just days after Mack was captured joyfully shrieking and dancing away in the sunshine inside Bali's Kerobokan prison on August 17 for Indonesia's Independence Day celebrations.

The prisoner, again, wore casual attire for the festivities, a rare, once-a-year occasion. And this time, she was also plastered in make-up - including bright lipstick and eyeshadow - with curled hair.

Mack has been enjoying her notoriety since she and her boyfriend, Tommy Schaefer, then 21, were jailed earlier this year for the murder of Mack's mother, Sheila von Wiese-Mack, 62, last August.

And she did not hold back when the chance came to party the hours away to a live band's music.

She laughed and joked with her fellow inmates as they walked hand-in-hand towards the performance area last week - and told Daily Mail Online how she was having a 'great' time.

'Yes, I'm having fun,' she admitted candidly after a dance with one of the guards in the prison courtyard. 'I wish we could do this every day.'

Mack gave birth to daughter Stella five months ago in a prison hospital, while she was still on trial for helping her boyfriend murder Wiese-Mack by 'sadistically' stuffing her corpse into a suitcase.

Schaefer, who was jailed for 18 years for battering his mother-in-law to death, kept his distance from the Independence Day festivities, instead, watching his girlfriend dance with their baby daughter.

'You know where he is?' Mack asked when her partner and baby came up in conversation.

Looking completely at ease in the situation, she turned her gaze towards them and said Schaefer did not want to dance because he was 'too shy'.

Mack will be forced by Indonesian law to hand baby Stella over in around 19 months' time.

When questioned about it, she said: 'I'm not ready... I don't know how I'll ever be ready.'

At first Heather started the day by dancing with 15 other women prisoners, including murderers and drug dealers, under the red and white Indonesian flag.

But when a grinning guard asked her for a dance, she readily accepted.

Then her attention turned to the male prisoners, who have made no secret about their attraction to her, crowding around her in recent weeks when she has been allowed to visit the men's quarters so that Schaefer can hold his daughter.

The prisoners have reached out to touch her during those 'family visits' and have whistled at her and asked for a kiss.

And last week, the admiring looks were once again focused on her as she took advantage of every minute to have fun.

'She sees herself as a star,' said one of the women inmates. 'She really loves all the attention.'

Mack told Daily Mail Online she hopes 'to be out of here in less than the 10 years I've received. 'I've lost one appeal but I'm going to another court with a second appeal for a lower sentence,' she said.

Even if she succeeds in getting a reduction in her sentence, Mack is unlikely to be released by the time daughter Stella is two years old.

The prisoner told Daily Mail Online she had 'been thinking of giving Stella over to an Australian family to care for'. But she added: 'Nothing is final. It may be somebody else. I haven't decided.'

Mack has been entrusting the baby to an Australian woman - who has only given her name as Osha - who takes Stella to a hospital once a month for a check-up.

Schaefer has also been receiving medical attention in recent weeks, prison sources revealed - being given methadone for a previously unreported drug habit.

Von Wiese-Mack's badly battered body was found stuffed in a suitcase inside the trunk of a taxi at the St. Regis Bali Resort. She reportedly did not approve of Mack's relationship with Schaefer.

The day after the killing, Mack and Schaefer were arrested in a motel a few miles away.

The names of the two women Mack was pictured goofing around with this week remain unknown.
