This ecstatic birthday boy trying cake for the first time enjoys it so much that he shows his adoration for the sweet treat by meeting it head-on.

Wyatt Shoptaw, from Oakland, Tennessee, was celebrating his first birthday on September 22 surrounded by family, when they decided to let him eat the sweet treat.

He was so excited that he smashed his face into the birthday cake - and fought off any attempts to share it.

Mum Elizabeth, from said: 'It was Wyatt's first experience with cake and needless to say he obviously loved it.

'Wyatt definitely gets his sweet tooth from his daddy.

'He has never seen anyone go head first into a cake so I have no clue why he decided to eat it this way.

'It was hilarious and his birthday so we let him do his thing.

'He even managed to get bits up his nose.
