Mischievous Mia is back! Zara Tindall's adorable two-year-old runs wild on the sidelines as her mother competes at Calmsden Horse Trials

  • Mia Tindall joined her mother Zara at the Calmsden Horse Trials in Cirencester today
  • The two-year-old passed the time by watching her iPad from the comfort of her pushchair
  • She also played with family friends laughing and grinning while her mother was in the saddle
  •  Mother Zara, 35,  was back in the saddle after missing out on Olympic hopes in Rio

Her mother may be a silver medal-winning Olympic equestrian.

But it seems Mia Tindall is indifferent to Zara's sporting endeavours and would either read her iPad or play with family friends when her mum is otherwise engaged.

At one point the young royal was engrossed in the gadget as she watched it from the comfort of her pushchair as Zara, 35, competed at Calmsden Horse Trials in Cirencester, Gloucestershire on Sunday.

Until the excitement provided by playing on the sidelines became too much of a temptation.

Wrapped in a cosy jumper and woolly tights, the two-and-a-half year old looked adorable as she was initially engrossed in one of her favourite programmes or games.

Her father Mike was nowhere to be seen but a - very patient - family friend appeared to be on babysitting duty.

Later on, Mia was spotted playing with him as he picked her up and tossed her over his shoulder.

The Royal finished 11th overall and her score among the British riders was only beaten by world number one and team mate William Fox-Pitt.

Of her Olympic ambitions, Zara has said: 'I would love to go to another Olympics. I am very lucky to have gone to London. When we finished there, the next one (Olympics) seemed like forever away.

'It's the place to be. It is where you want to be, with the rest of the world's sport. It is a unique championship, and to be able to represent your country there is phenomenal.'
