Cars have been crushed (centre, top right) against the roof of a car park in Crayford, south-east London, after a burst water main caused polystyrene insulation below the road surface to expand by four feet. Crews from London Fire Brigade have been pumping water out of the flooded High Street in Crayford this morning and it is understood the burst pipe is also affecting Greenwich and Bexley and parts of Dartford and Kent. Thames Water is working on fixing the problem (bottom right) and is proving emergency supplies of bottled water to those affected.
'It's just alpha male boasting, it's what men do': Nigel Farage DEFENDS Donald Trump over lewd comments about women
Farage, pictured in St Louis, Missouri to help Trump prepare for tonight's presidential debate, defended the Republican candidate, pictured inset, after footage emerged of him boasting that he can 'do anything' to women. But the interim Ukip leader admitted that the video from 2005 of Trump saying stars can 'do anything' to women, including grabbing them 'by the p***y, were 'ugly'.

Shop selling 'child terrorist' Hallowe'en fancy dress costume that includes a beard and a turban is forced to remove outfit from its shelves
A shop has been blasted for selling 'child terrorist' fancy dress costumes. The £15 outfits were marketed with a picture of a young boy wearing a beard and camouflaged waistcoat. The costumes were being sold at a pop-up shop called Halloween (right), in the Diamond Shopping Centre in Coleraine, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. Shoppers apparently complained to staff about the outfits, claiming they were offensive as they were labelled 'terrorist' despite featuring simplistic Muslim clothing (left). The outfits were removed from the shelves after complaints.

Disabled woman is rescued from the English Channel after her WHEELCHAIR slid down a slipway as she tried to retrieve her dog's toy
Sally Whitney, 29, was saved by a team of passing strangers after her chair slid down a concrete launch ramp at high tide - plunging her into the water. Good Samaritans dived into the water at Brighton Marina to rescue Sally (shown at the ramp) and her carer, Zizi Linerpaite, who had got into difficulty after trying to save her friend. And after pulling Sally from the water, the team managed to recover her specialist wheelchair after discovering it washed up on rocks (pictured main). Sally found herself in a nightmare situation as her disability meant all she could do was cling on to the boulders for dear life.
I forgive you, mum: Canoe son rebuilds relationship with mother Anne Darwin after she lied to him and his brother for FIVE YEARS that their father was dead
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH MARK DARWIN: Mark Darwin and his younger brother Anthony stood with their mother Anne when they threw a wreath of red roses into the choppy waters off a windswept pier in County Durham in 2004. His father, John Darwin, had disappeared during a canoeing accident two years earlier and been declared dead. What Mark could not have known as he comforted his mother was that behind a wall dividing the house from the one next door stood the 'dead' man himself. No wonder Mark and Anthony swore they would have nothing more to do with their parents. Yet now, there has been a most unlikely reconciliation between Mark and Anne. Pictured: Mark and Anne Darwin in London last week (left); John and Anne with Mark and Anthony as schoolboys (centre); and Anne joins Mark, his wife Flick and their children Joe and Max on holiday in Spain (right).
Ukip MEP WAS punched: Doctors say Steven Woolfe's injuries prove he 'was attacked and suffered more than just a seizure or a fall'
Nigel Farage and his 'ex-mistress' are dragged into Ukip leadership farce over claims he regarded his successor Diane James as 'an utter b****'
The abuse is contained in a leaked email sent by Annabelle Fuller (left), who was once named in the European Parliament as Farage's mistress. She now works for Mike Hookem, the Ukip MEP accused of hitting party leadership favourite Steven Woolfe (right) last week in Strasbourg. Both Farage and Fuller vehemently deny any affair. Woolfe was one of the recipients of the 'utter bitch' email, sent as Diane James (centre) was standing for Ukip in the Eastleigh by-election in February 2013. In the message, dated a fortnight before James came within a whisker of claiming victory, Fuller said: 'I understand from the man who knows best we've been lumbered with an utter bitch who is Marta Mk 2.' 'Marta Mk 2' is a reference to former Ukip MEP Marta Andreasen, who enraged Farage by defecting to the Conservatives in 2013, calling him 'anti-women' and a 'Stalinist dictator'.
Here's what Cambridge students think of their sexual consent classes: Women's officer posts picture of empty hall as freshers boycott 'patronising' talks
No freshers attended an hour-long sexual consent workshop at Clare College, Cambridge. Women's officer Rosie Boxall later posted pictures of the empty auditorium on social media (pictured) and lambasted freshers for snubbing the event. She described it as a 'huge step backwards'. Workshops are being held at universities across the country in order to inform new students about sexual consent in an effort to tackle the rising number of assaults on campus. Earlier this month, students at York University staged a walkout in protest against consent classes.
No wonder she's cracking open the bubbly... this woman's clinical negligence firm bagged £29m from the NHS in legal costs for cases last year
Sheffield-based company Irwin Mitchell, which like many firms attracts clients with the promise of so-called no win, no fee agreements, was paid a startling £29,027,575 by the NHS in legal costs for medical negligence cases in 2015-16 alone, according to figures obtained by The Mail on Sunday under the Freedom of Information Act. During the latest financial year, the company secured £38,454,015 for its medical negligence clients, according to NHSLA figures, suggesting that for every £1 it secured in damages, it was paid 75p. But Lisa Jordan (pictured), Irwin Mitchell's head of medical negligence, accused the NHSLA of issuing 'selective' and 'misleading' figures.
Stop the King taking off! It's the dramatic untold twist of the abdication crisis: how Edward VIII tried to flee the country in his private plane - and sent the Government into a tailspin
A new book, The King Who Had To Go: Edward VIII, Mrs Simpson And The Hidden Politics Of The Abdication Crisis, looks at the romance between the monarch and Wallis Simpson - and how Britain faced its biggest royal mess since 1688 when James II fled to France in the face of a parliamentary coup. It was December 1936 and since Edward had announced his plans to wed twice-married Wallis Simpson, the Government had blocked his every wish - including his plan to make a broadcast to the Empire 'to tell them that he intended to marry Mrs S but without announcing his abdication'. The book also details how Edward (pictured, alongside his personal plane), had confided the scheme to one of his few remaining friends, Winston Churchill, who immediately recognised its danger. Churchill, then a backbench MP in his 'wilderness years', supported the King in general, but saw that such a move would be disastrous.
Almost 400 ISIS jihadis trained in Iraq and Syria are now at large on Britain's streets... as it's revealed just 14 fighters who have returned to the UK have been jailed
Just 14 battle-hardened ISIS fighters have been jailed. The shock figure is far lower than Ministers previously claimed and means almost 400 jihadis trained in Syria and Iraq are at large on Britain's streets. Imran Khawaja (left) was jailed for 12 years after he was caught trying to sneak back into Britain but Gianluca Tomaselli, (middle, right) who fought in Syria, is working as an NHS parking attendant in London.
'We won't be silenced': Fury of market traders at one of London's busiest and oldest markets after Islington trendies tell them to stop bellowing because it's too loud
The barrow boys at London's 137-year-old Chapel Market in Islington may be silenced after complaints from well-heeled residents who have moved into swanky flats nearby, inset. They say the bellowing of the traders is too loud and have protested to the council. David Twydell, 59, pictured, chairman of the Chapel Market stall holders' association, who has traded in Islington since he was 12, said: 'Ever since the flats were bought and refurbished last year we have had no end of problems from the landlord and the tenants.'

She worked for Cllr Burbage, pictured left with Theresa May, in the cabinet policy office in Maidenhead Council.
People think I'm mad! Britain's most prolific surrogate mother defies doctors as she prepares for her SIXTEENTH child - just days before she turns 50
Carole Horlock (main image), from Colchester in Essex, was told by medical experts that she was at high risk of complications and that she needed to stop for the sake of her health, after losing the last child she attempted to have. However, she has now done a u-turn and travelled to Greece to have two embryos implanted in her because she was not allowed to have the procedures in Britain. Pictured are babies number four (top left), five (top right), seven (bottom right) and eight (bottom left).

This week Central London County Court ruled in favour of Elaine Ames (pictured left), whose late husband Michael (bottom right) left his daughter Danielle (top right) with nothing. But she said: 'There is no victory here.' Not only did Danielle not receive a penny of her father's will, she was also ordered to pay her stepmother's £87,000 legal costs. In her first interview since the ruling, Elaine says it brings her little joy. 'The judge did the right thing,' she says, 'but there is no victory here. I just feel so sorry for Michael and what his daughter's done to his name. Calling him a philanderer and things was terrible. Awful.'

Tree murderers! Residents' fury as police order council to chop one down to stop youths throwing apples at cars
Youths started picking apples from the tree (circled, left) in a park in Wallasey, Merseyside, and hurled them at cars and passers-by. Police decided not to wait for the fruit season to pass and ordered the council to chop the tree down (pictured after, right). The decision has angered residents who have accused the authorities of over-reacting to the problem. One resident went so far to suggest the tree had been 'murdered' by authorities.

The gang, who are aged 13 to 16, dragged their victim into a shallow grave before hitting her repeatedly round the head and body with a wooden stick and a small machete in the shocking attack filmed in Trindade, Brazil. The injured girl only managed to escape when her tormentors went to wash blood off their hands before culminating their torture ordeal with what detectives believe was a plan to kill her.
